Great stargazing
Overall we had a great experience with the host, and the site was great for star watching. I’d say we did feel a tad mislead as we believed the entire land was only a few camping sites that may or may not be booked and we ran into a trailer with garbage bags covering the windows as soon as we got onto the property which we don’t remember being listed in the description or on the map posted on Hipcamp, which was a little weird. We never saw anyone, but the fact that it was unlisted on the map was just odd.

Beautiful spot deep in the woods
Beautiful place to camp. Very private and secluded. We ended up not staying the whole time because there was a pack of coyotes that got very close to our site. It was upsetting my dogs and didn't feel safe. That is of course not the hosts fault. I loved the drive to the camp spot. It was a short little mudding trip every time we came or went. People in sedans or without 4WD would probably be uncomfortable, especially after rain. The site's compost toilet was clean and well cared for with easy to use instructions. There were also solar lights and a table and chairs and a fire pit with a good stack of wood too. I really loved the space but between the squirrels and armadillos and coyotes that we saw, I wouldn't suggest trying to camp with dogs here, unless they are not excited by animals.

Weekend at BC
It was awesome, made it feel remote because the land was virtually untouched. Plenty of space for our 5 kids to run and play. The land was beautiful. The weather turned on us, it got cold and rained almost the whole weekend, so we didn’t get a chance to explore as much as we wanted to, and the fishing creek was dry so we couldn’t do that, but we loved the site and will return

Me and had my two dogs had a blast camping here! If your dogs are good off leash, this is a paradise. We didn’t see any other people, and I like the the number of camping spots is limited. There are lots of trails to explore. The solar lights and fire pit were a nice touch.

Great spot. Beautiful area. Creek is dry but kids loved hiking and playing down in the bottom. Super quite and remote from other campers/people in general. Great place to get away. Little kids on the edge of the creek made me a little nervous especially after dark, but otherwise perfect.

Very private and great place to camp. Proximity to Bastrop is a plus especially if you like kayaking the Colorado River.

Unable to find camp site, had fun.
Overall our camping experience was good. I was unable to find our campsite, so I just set up a tent in the middle of the bed creek. It was a good time. We had to rough it lol.
We had to use our wilderness skills; which we have zero of that, but the campsite is awesome with what we had. We had to make our own fires and roughed it up lol.
My 2 dogs had a grand time! This camp trip was really last minute. We arrived on the campsite late at night.

Great spot!
Really enjoyed this campsite. Easy to get to from Austin, but very secluded. Happened to run into the owners as we were setting up -- and they were very welcoming. It was a great way to spend a Saturday night in the wilderness!

Grove on Bluff Creek
A secluded decked-out campsite under a thick, full canopy of mature trees, overlooking a beautiful (dry, for this dry October) creek. Simple and hassle-free arrival, and great communication from the host. And a great middle-ground location for those whose group is spread between Austin/Houston/Dallas. We all (child, dog, adults) really loved this site!

This was a lovely campsite on a beautiful open ranch. There are plenty of trails to walk around inside the woods, a rocky shaded creek, and large tall grass pastures.
The campsite itself was well maintained and easy to find.

Star-Gazing Getaway
Great primitive camping spot. Truly felt away from everything. We took our telescope as it’s a perfect spot for star gazing. Loved that we could gather deadwood and enjoyed hours by the fire.

Great stay, no complaints
My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed the Subset Cedars campsite! Very secluded with plenty of land to explore. Our dogs had a wonderful time free-roaming the land.
Andrea was also extremely attentive and responsive via message, which made our stay much more comfortable. Would highly recommend for a secluded getaway!

Great remote location.
The land was beautiful. And the spot was remote as promised. The tent pad was a nice level sand. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from everyone. The only downside that I can see was that in this time of the year the creek was dry next to the site. I will have to return in the fall or spring.

Great spot! We cooked the best steaks over the fire while watching the sun go down we will for sure come back! Plenty of shade to set up under, we were very comfortable even with the 100degree temperature.

Secluded and Well Laid Out
This campsite promised and delivered. Easy to find with the help of Andrea’s instructions. There are faucets to stop and fill up potable water on the way to the site. This one is tucked in at the back of the property which is awesome. It overlooks the creek which did have water in it. It wasn’t flowing and not advisable to get in, but definitely some good scenery for relaxing. You’ll see some wildlife like frogs, turtles, fish, owls, cardinals, deer, lightning bugs , and an occasional harmless snake. There is a fire pit, patio table, and wagon for collecting firewood which was so thoughtful! The included solar lights are great touch as well. there is the compost toilet but I do recommend bringing some kind of brush to clean up the area before using it! it is nature and spiders will build webs wherever they can. We recommend!
