Our private camping outpost is conveniently situated 25 minutes south of Hobart. A 5 minute drive the local beach, 10 minute drive to local shops, bottle shop, takeaways & restaurants. Bruny Island Ferry is about 25 minutes away. It offers views over Northwest Bay, D'Entrecasteaux Channel, North Bruny Island. The occasional occurrence of stunning auroras are visible from the property. Wildlife abounds! Including Bennett & Rufous Wallabies, Betongs, Possums and you may be fortunate enough to see a Tassie Devil! Many species of birds make their home here, including Wedge Tail Eagles, White Belly Sea Eagles Swift Parrots & 40 Spotted Pardalotes. Dogs are permitted but must be on leash at all times. We offer filtered potable rainwater free of charge. Fires are permitted in the fire pits provided subject to current Tas Fire restrictions. Wild Cherry
We loved our stay at Tinderbox Outpost. The location was a great base for exploring the Hobart region and the location between Hobart and the Bruny Island Ferry point at Kettering was super convenient. The campground itself is very well maintained and the views were just stunning. We loved watching the sunset in the afternoons, the wildlife and the boats coming and going. Plenty of firewood available and being able to fill up on water was great! The hosts were exceptionally welcoming too. All round, one of our top sites in all of Tassie and would definitely stay again!
