Stringybark is a quiet 80 hectare rural property in the North East of Tasmania, featuring bush, native grassland and 4 beautiful lakes. It's the perfect place to kick back and relax, enjoy the views, the abundant wildlife and refreshing swims in the lakes on the property. If you feel like going for a wander, you can spend hours exploring the bush and native grasslands on the property and if you're keen on climbing the hill you get rewarded with amazing views over the Great Western Tiers. Why not take your mountain bike up there and enjoy the downhill ride afterwards? Sunsets are spectacular at Stringybark and the skies phenomenal during clear nights. Although it feels like the end of the world, surrounded by bush and wildlife, we're only 30 minutes drive from Launceston CBD, Ben Lomond National Park and Josef Chromy's winery and only a 20 minute drive from Launceston Airport, making it a perfect base to explore Launceston and surrounds. You need to be fully self contained and there are no amenities. But there is a beautiful lake with jetty to swim in. We live on the property, just a stone's throw from the camp site, so if you ever need anything, just shout out. Dogs are permitted, however strictly on lead only to protect the wildlife and our sheep. If your dog gets very excited around wildlife or sheep, this may not be a suitable stay, since they might come right up to your camp. Please note, that Stringybark is a working property. While we'll always respect your privacy and keep noise levels to a minimum, please be aware that we do work on the land and that tools, building material and other rural property stuff can be present at any time (never on the campsite though). Please ALWAYS supervise children and pets, particularly in the following areas: -bush and grass areas where snakes can be present most of the year -around the shed where we store farm materials -around our lakes which are not fenced in We're so excited to be sharing our piece of paradise with campers from near and far and from all walks of life :)

The Valley

100%
(3)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 8 · Vehicles under 10 m
***Max length incl. towing vehicle: 10m*** Welcome to The Valley at Stringybark! This secluded site is tucked far away from any buildings with beautiful views over the surrounding bushland and within close proximity of the largest lake on our property. The entire valley is teeming with wildlife and a refreshing swim in the lake is only 1 minute's walk away. It's a beautiful, private spot close to walking tracks that invite you to explore the nearby bush and grasslands. Please note that access to The Valley is over a bumpy gravel track. Go slow, look where you're driving and you'll be fine. Access can get a bit slippery in wet weather but it's fine by nimble 2WD. This site is not suitable for rigs any longer than 10 metres (incl. towing vehicle) due to limited turning space. The camp site itself is not perfectly level and levelling out will be required. During the summer months the local Canoe Polo team will occasionally come up for training sessions on the lake. Watching them is great fun. Their goals are permanently erected on the lake during the summer months, but swimming in the lake is still possible. The team may use the grounds around the camp site for parking.
