Prossers Ridge Richmond is 52 acres of rural paradise within close proximity to the heritage town of Richmond. The topography slopes up from the road to a large flat top and is dotted with weathered gum trees. There are sweeping views in all directions, including a view of the sunrise to the east and spectacular sunset views toward Hobart's Kunanyi (Mount Wellington). The property has good access for all vehicles and there are plenty of flat sites for camping at the top of the property. Some minor leveling may be required in parts for RVs and Caravans. Plenty of space though to find your own peaceful, private patch. And you're welcome to bring your dog along too! Please note: some front wheel drive motorhomes have encountered difficulty getting up the driveway. We have one toilet available for shared use, self contained campers are encouraged to use their own facilities where possible. Situated within the Coal Valley Wine Region and just 30 minutes from Hobart, the property is the perfect location for travelers looking to sample glorious local food and wine, before returning to their picturesque base camp to recharge. Settle in, and experience the local eagles during the day or the Milky Way at night. Was an awesome spot in top of the ridge. 360 degree views and an amazing sunset to end off a brilliant day around Richmond. Camp is just out of town.

We loved our camping stay at Prossers Ridge!! Beautiful views, easy and clean toilet facilities, ample space to spread out without being too close to other campers. Paul was very responsive and a great host. Thank you! Highly recommended :)

This property offered gorgeous views with plenty of space between other campers. The toilet facilities were exceptionally clean and it was so handy having access to some pre cut firewood. Thanks for sharing your space with us, can’t wait to return!

We loved camping at Prossers Ridge! It is such a beautiful space. Despite no amenities activity wise (we knew this when we booked) the five children had a fabulous time and wanted to extend their time. Pls Ty of space to not feel cramped with other campers, great views - we are already looking to book another trip.

We loved our overnight stay at this location! Those wanting to begin night camping with their own tent and a small campfire in a safe location will find this a great place. Easy access to the land, even with a small 2WD car. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Clean and safe shared toilet. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the easy relaxed location. Quite peaceful with lovely rural views. Having an honesty system for the fire wood is a nice touch reminding me of the past when trust was important. The toilet was clean and well maintained. We will return for another camping trip.

What a spectacular camp. We were very lucky to have the camp to ourselves. The views were incredible. Loved having an open fire and the toilet was a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for two nights, was lovely and quiet, great views, good fire pits and clean toilets … very well done! Perfect camp to explore Richmond and the surrounding wineries. We would highly recommend it!

Lovely quiet spot with beautiful views and big skies. Perfect to visit local wineries, Richmond and hobart and come back and enjoy one of Tasmania’s fine wines by the fire. Our dog enjoyed his stay as well❤️

The camp spots are high with great views of the valley. We towed our 8 meter caravan in with no worries, it’s steepish but very accessible. The toilet is very well set up and clean. We stayed 5 nights and used it as a base to explore Hobart. It was very quiet with a fire nearly every night, plenty of supplied timber that you leave a donation for. Great spot.

Feel very lucky to have chosen this camp site for our last night in Tasmania. It’s very handy to Hobart but feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. We had our only campfire of the trip here and it was great! Very quiet overnight.
