Located in the small, rural village of Lilydale in NE Tasmania lies our little 5 acre patch of paradise. With an ever flowing creek at the rear of the property, it is a peaceful, flat spot to set up camp. Spotlight at night for native wildlife ... you may even spot our elusive platypus or native freshwater crayfish. There is a firepit where you light a fire to toast marshmallows and warm your toes under the stars. The property has an existing home at the front where your hosts live, chickens, and a dog. We're just 7km from Hollybank Treetop Adventures, waterhole and mountain bike track, and even closer to Lilydale Falls and the Mt Arthur track. For those wishing to venture further, local vineyards, Bridestowe Lavender Farm, the seaside town of Bridport, and local beaches are not far away. Lilydale is 25 mins out of Launceston city but everything you may need is close at hand ... a pharmacy, post office, IGA, several cafes, local artisan shop, takeaway, children's playground and the local tavern are all in the one main street within walking distance.

A magic location. Plenty of space. Very serene by the creek. A great spot for us to locate ourselves and visit the many attractions in the area. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts. Highly recommend.

Platypus Creek at Lilydale
Very spacious camping area that we had to ourselves. Quiet and serene. Nice to go to sleep at night with the creek bubbling away in the background. Great to have fire wood and free range eggs available to buy. A good spot to base yourself and visit many of the wonderful attractions in the area. We really enjoyed our stay, in fact we extended for another night, staying 5 nights in total. Lovely, friendly hosts. Thank you.

Platypus Creek
Beautiful and peaceful
Fantastic spot John was an amazing host, the firewood we ordered was there next to the firepit when we arrived & he brought the dozen beautiful eggs down to the campsite (which we had exclusively) couldn't have picked a better site to explore the region including Launceston. Highly recommended

A Place to Relax or Play….
If you’re after peace and solitude or alternatively a place for the children to ride bikes , kick a footy or just play in a creek this is the place for you. Large mown level area , no stones or ruts and plenty of places to set up camp. We will return without a doubt……

Platypus Creek
Wow. What a lovely spot to camp. Nice and and flat. Easy access. There was a big fire pit and then a little fire pit near the river. We took a hammock and there was a perfect spot to hang in next to the river. We did not see the lobster or platypus but the creek was super lovely to dip toes into and sit and watch. The kids loved this spot and we will be back. Recommend also getting a dozen eggs.
