Owner was rude. Once we had nearly set up where he told us he then said his partner had been called to work and we had to leave. Wouldnât recommend.

What an experience and what great hosts. This is an amazing opportunity to be amongst many, many very friendly and free roaming animals. If you want luxury, bring it with you. If you want an amazing experience go to Eventide soon.

This was by far the worst experience weâve ever had with Hipcamp. We booked Ianâs property and received confirmation, but when we arrived, Ian claimed he didnât see the booking and wasnât even home. He told us to wait two hours, offered no apology, and refused to communicate with us during that time.
When we returned, instead of welcoming us, he insisted we reverse through a steep, narrow gate into his property â even though there was plenty of open space to turn safely once inside. While we struggled, Ian just sat and watched, offering no help, no greeting, and no courtesy. His behavior was rude, arrogant, and made it very clear we were not welcome.
We felt so uncomfortable and unsafe that we decided to leave. This host was dismissive, unprofessional, and showed no respect for guests. A truly horrible experience â we would strongly warn others to avoid this property

Had such a great stay at Eventide Sanctuary with my dog! Peaceful bush vibes, super friendly animals wandering around, and a magical sunrise in the morning. Loved sitting by the campfire under the stars. You can really tell Ian cares about the land and the animals â such a special spot to relax and unwind, even just for a night.

Ian has set up his sanctuary so well for those passing by and for anyone who wants to stay. He shows such empathy and compassion for all of his animals and birds (both domesticated and wild). The views around the farm are amazing and being able to interact with the animals and birds alike was fantastic. Having the open setup that he has is wonderful. I 1000% recommend coming here and having an absolute blast. Wish I could have started longer!! Thanks so much Ian and Wally for making me feel so welcome đ

We only stayed one night at Eventide Sanctuary, but it was such a memorable and heartwarming experience that we truly wished we had more time. From the moment we arrived, Ian made us feel completely at home. Heâs a genuinely kind and generous host, and itâs clear that everything he does is out of love for the animals and the sanctuary heâs built.
The property is full of charm and surrounded by nature, with a beautiful variety of animals to meet â goats, alpacas, chickens, ducks, geese, and the gorgeous Highland cattle, and Wally. Each one has its own personality, and it was such a joy just to be around them. You can really feel the care Ian puts into looking after them â itâs more than just a farm; itâs a sanctuary in every sense of the word.
The place was cosy and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed for our getaway trip in the campervan. It was the perfect way to end our journey â this was our last day in our Tasmanian road trip, and we couldnât be happier to have saved the best for last.
Thank you, Ian, for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful. We hope to return one day for a longer visit!

Loved camping with the opportunity of interacting with the beautiful animals on Eventide Sanctuary ⌠such characters! The view was stunning. Ian is doing an amazing job with these rescue animals and we appreciated the experience of being amongst it all. Highly recommend.

This camp has amazing views and it was private. There is a menagerie of rescue animals of all kinds that have free range and are all very friendly. We were impressed with the work to provide safe haven to and education toward better outcomes for animals.

We stayed for two nights at Eventide Sanctuary, and it was an amazing experience! Ian and Diana are the best host, so welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is peaceful, with free-roaming animals of the sanctuary adding to the charm. The views are absolutely stunning, making it the perfect place to relax. While itâs listed as self-contained vehicles only, you can stay if you bring a porta potty or toilet bucket. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

We loved our stay at Eventide, we didnât want to leave. Being surrounded by animals who were so friendly was a true highlight. We took part in the animal tour and helped feed the animals which is such a unique experience. What Ian is doing is truly amazing and we were happy to support him.
Ian was an amazing host and made the whole process of arriving and departing to easy. Would highly recommended to anyone travelling in Tassie

Ian's property is one of a kind. The views from our campsite were incredible, and we loved the free ranging farm animals that came and said hello during our stay. The love and care Ian has for his animals is really beautiful, and all the animals we met were friendly and happy to get pats and head scratches. Our toddler loved the trampoline and swing set as well, it was an added bonus! Staying at Eventide was a really special experience that we would recommend to all.

Really enjoyed our two night stay at Eventide Sanctuary. Our daughter definitely did not want to leave! Ian has a true love of all the animals and we enjoyed doing the farm experience, especially feeding the Highland cows. Thanks for also for being dog friendly.

This was a beautiful property to camp on. I loved how Ian put us in our own spot with privacy and a magnificent view. The stars were magic and we had a lovely campfire.
The animals were super friendly and our kids loved interacting with them. We had a tour as well and Ian was generous with his time and knowledge. We loved meeting the majestic highland cows. Iâd recommend this spot if youâre an animal lover and especially if youâve got children.

What an amazing place to stay! My partner and I picked Eventide Sanctuary to wrap up our 2-week tour around Tasmania, and weâre so glad we did! We took part in the optional Farm Tour, where we were driven around to meet all the animals and see the stunning land that Ian and his fiancĂŠe work so hard to care for.
This is a fantastic spot for both families and couples to connect with a wonderful group of animals while supporting a family dedicated to helping those in need. Thanks so much for having us!

This was truly an amazing experience like no others, my partner and I are from Singapore, and we had an absolute great time with Ian & his rescues animals. You will never get this in Singapore for sure.
We were in Tassie for 2 weeks, & there is tons of special things to do here, yet Eventide Sanctuary still stays as one of the best memories in our hearts.
Nice property with loads of happy and friendly animals, you can feed them too. The farm tour with Ian is a definite must do if you are there ! Learnt more about the beautiful animals and the amount of hard work that has been put into growing this sanctuary. Thank you Ian for the hospitality & your love for animals !

Absolutely LOVED my stay! Ian was awesome, for a donation to the sanctuary he took us to meet and feed all of the animals. Llamas, highland cows, sheep, goats, donkeys, it was awesome. I loved being woken up by the roosters and the donkeys playing in the morning. The peacock was having a snooze on my roof too. What a magical way to wake up. Highly recommend.

A nice way to support Ian's work with the many rescue animals that he has. Ian and his side kick Wally were great hosts
The kids absolutely loved the animals it was like being a mini farmer for time we were here. Feeding the animals in the morning, cuddling and patting them and getting to know each of them. They happily helped Ian do odd jobs around the farm or spent the day bouncing on the trampoline
We did a 2hr tour to meet all the animals as a way to support the cause.
You can also buy fresh eggs while you stay here.

My kids did not want to leave!!! We had terrible weather which wasnât ideal but it could not stop the fun we had with all of the beautiful animals that Ian takes care of. We woke up to beautiful donkeys at our van door, the kids helped feed the gorgeous little lambs and the goats and chickens provided lots of laughs. Such a great place to stay!

Really loved our stay here. Loved all the animals so much and being able to sit on a bench seat and take in the view with all the animals around you was so peaceful! Itâs amazing what Ian is doing for these animals. The kids also loved jumping in the tramp đ as a travel fam these donât come around often

Easy to park up the van for a night & relax on the hill amongst nature, animals & perfect views! Ian was full of knowledge about the property & Tasmania, super welcoming & we really loved learning about all the little quirky creatures on the farm & how they came into care. It truly is a beautiful thing Ian is doing for this world & as an animal lover myself it warmed my heart to hear him talk with such passion about educating others! 10/10 recommend a stay here!!!

If you love animals this is the place for you!! All the animals are free ranging around your camp, they are well looked after and clearly loved by Ian. Wally the dog is so friendly and gentle and loves a pat, he was also great with our 2!! The farm tour was a lovely walk around the farm feeding the animals and listening to Ianâs stories of the area and learning about his passion to help the animals. The views of the hills and farm land from the camp area are amazing too. If you are up to it Ian loves a hand with different things and itâs nice to contribute (there is no pressure though only if you want to). Thank you for providing such a unique experience and one to remember!!

We had a lovely time camping at Eventide. The land feels open and spacious, and the sunset was beautiful. We loved being surrounded by rescue animals who are beautifully cared for by Ian. On our last day we were very lucky to see eleven baby chicks that had only just hatched. And on our final night we saw an aurora.
