Conveniently located between Launceston and Devonport, Buckbill Banks Camping offers a beautiful, level camping area overlooking Quamby Brook Creek. The 35-acre property offers views of Quamby Bluff, and various options to explore and relax. Find yourself a nice quiet spot, where you can enjoy peace and quiet. Although we take several bookings at once, you are guaranteed a secluded nook, there is plenty of space. There is a woodfired hot tub beside the creek, which all campers have access to. Imagine star gazing from the hot tub of an evening, or enjoying a morning soak whilst keeping your eyes peeled for the resident platypus in their natural habitat! Firewood is provided for the hot tub, as well as your individual campfires. The hot Tub is not for wild parties, but to relax and view the native wild life, quietly watch the platypus in their natural environment. Please note, we accept one camper trailer/caravan per booking. If you are traveling in a group with multiple caravans, you will need to book multiple sites - but will still be able to camp together. The property has good access for all types of vehicles. The camping area has lush green grass and is bordered by native forest and the creekline. It offers plenty of shade and overlooks the water, which is filled with fish and platypus. Lots of native wildlife and birds can be spotted from your campchair! There is plenty of open space, so although we do accept multiple bookings at once, you'll still be able to find your own peaceful area. We can help guide you on arrival as to the best spot for your particular setup. Self-contained campers only please, we kindly ask you to bring your own camp toilet and take all the waste when you go. No fishing at this spot, sorry, due to the platypus breeding area. . Pls take your own rubbish 🗑 with you! No lighting of fires enclosed fire pots only (byo). No ground fires permitted. Pet friendly - dog's must be kept on a lead at all times and maybe walked in the paddocks.

Camping with the Platypus!
We loved the stunning rural setting, by the river - with resident platypus and farm animals! A beautiful spot to sit under the stars, by the fire and listen to the nocturnal wildlife. It feels a world away - but so convenient, easy to find and close to town. Campsites are flat, open and spacious (but private enough), with plenty of shade - and the place doesn't feel crowded. The hot tub is an absolute winner too! Tamika and Bert are brilliant hosts; super-friendly, down to earth, and willing to go to great lengths to ensure we were all made to feel special and having a great time. They do such a great job keeping the place pristine, and respecting the native habitat too. They truly made our stay special. We absolutely loved this place - and will be back!

Piece of paradise
What a stunning property. We had such a lovely time camping on the riverbank. The hot tub was amazing. For a solo mother with two young children with me, we felt safe, relaxed and slept wonderfully. We’ll be back, time and time again. Thank you! 🤩🥰
