Bomana is a 36 acre property in Carlton River, on the way to the Tasman Peninsular. It boasts stunning views of Fredrick Henry Bay, kunanyi and neighbouring rural landscapes. The owners live on site (top corner of the block). We are offering two opportunities to camp/van/caravan on this delightfully private land. When you book, you can be assured that the property is yours alone, making it a quiet and private experience. The unpowered site gives you the opportunity to enjoy the land. The powered site additionally gives you access to a bungalow which has a couch, TV, bed and dining table, as well as a very basic kitchenette with a toaster and kettle. There is also a power lead if you just want to run power to your own set-up. Campfires are a must - nothing better than watching the sun set around the campfire. This is a leave no trace property that suits campers who bring everything they need (including a camping toilet) and remove everything they bring. Good access for 2WD vehicles and caravans. Lots of opportunities to capture photos of sensational sunrises and sunsets. The property is 3km from Primrose Sands Beach (great for safe swimming). It is 4.5km from Carlton Beach (great for surfing), 37km from Port Arthur and 13km from Sorell. Hobart is 45km. We have goats on the property so pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis, please ask before booking with pets.

This site is available between October and April only. Bomana is a 36 acre property in Carlton River, on the way to the Tasman Peninsular. The owners live on site (top corner of the block). This is a large site. Power is accessed via the bungalow (unoccupied). The bungalow is available for use during your stay at this site. It has a fridge, bed, couch, TV and dining table, a perfect extension to your camping experience. If you don't have all the fancy camping gear but can bring a camp toilet, the bungalow will provide you with a very comfy stay - the view from the couch is pretty amazing - looking right down to Dunalley. This site is regularly booked so that campers can run power to their own caravans and campervans. This is a leave no trace property that suits campers who bring everything they need (including a camping toilet) and remove everything they bring. Good access for 2WD vehicles and caravans. This site boasts beautiful views of the Carlton River, Fredrick Henry Bay and Mt Wellington. Ther are also views down towards Dunalley. This site is available all year round and does not have access to power. Bomana is a 36 acre property in Carlton River, on the way to the Tasman Peninsular. The owners live on site (top corner of the block). This is a large site that offers a completely private opportunity to rest, relax and recuperate. You can take your pick of spots to pitch a tent or park a caravan or campervan. Be sure to buy a bundle of wood - nothing better than watching the sun set whilst sitting around the campfire. This is a leave no trace property that suits campers who bring everything they need (including a camping toilet) and remove everything they bring. Good access for most 2WD vehicles and caravans, please ask before booking if you would like more information about access. Bomana boasts beautiful views of the Carlton River, Fredrick Henry Bay and Mt Wellington. Some sites have views down towards Dunalley. True magic! I would die for the views this place delivers. The views of Carlton River on the horizon are second to none. There were some friendly goats roaming around that we could even pet. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful on arrival, and we had the whole place to ourselves with more than enough privacy. Absolutely loved it! Highly Recommended👍🏻

This was our second stay at Lauren’s place with our son, and we are already planning our next! A peaceful and picturesque spot with incredible views. Having power to run to the van is a great bonus! Can’t wait to come back again soon.

The Bungalow was an unexpected treasure, warm, spacious but cosy, and many unexpected mod comms that made the stay comfortable. The friendly goats topped off a great stay.

This was amazing! We were the only campers on her property. It was peaceful and the views are indescribable. We loved everything about this camp spot. It was the best one we have been to yet. Thank you Lauren for allowing us to use your property.

We loved our stay here. Stunning views and sunsets. Lovely host. We used the bungalow when it was raining, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful level site perch high on a hill with glorious views in every direction, very peaceful and quiet. The resident goats were great company and loved a head scratch, lots of wallabies, bird life and we even came across an echidna. Lauren was a great host.

We had three enjoyable nights here and highly recommend for others. Goats are friendly as was the host. We have a 23ft 3t van and the driveway was just manageable with 4WD (highway tyres) in the dry. Too rough to get a run-up so slow and just about breaking traction getting up. No problems getting back down in the dry. View is great, ability to have a fire always a positive ($5 firewood extra was more than generous- highly recommend). Our two little kids (2 &5) loved it and was very safe. Ability to have the cabin also a great positive especially for kids who have been on the road for a few weeks! Recommend to everyone, driveway in the wet may be an issue for big rigs however. We did day trips back to Hobart and even Bruney Island form this base.

We loved our night stay at Bomana. Lauren was a great host and was excellent with the communication when booking, leading up to our stay and then post our stay. The bungalow conversion is fantastic and really helped us have a relaxing afternoon and evening after a couple of wet cold days in the van. If we had time we would have stayed another night or two. We would highly recommend this site for a Hipcamp stay.

Such an amazing place! Lauren is a great host and the place is as described, lots of privacy and goats, also a great base to discover the Tasman peninsula! The bungalow and in particular the wooden Plattform are a big plus. Also great for kids to discover the huge property and to play!

The view from this location is stunning. The bungalow and attached decks that are available for use including power make this site amazing. They have a hurd of rescued old goats that like to say hi on arrival, but they are not any trouble. This is a spot I will return to very soon, Lauren is great at communicating directions and requirements for a relaxing stay.

Awesome accommodation! Clean, spacious, amazing view, lovely host (thank you Lauren!) and super cute pet goats! We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay for another night. In the morning, there are wallabies hanging out by the front porch, close to nature. Would definitely recommend for a quiet getaway!

Lauren's place is so peaceful and we felt relaxed from the moment we unhitched. Beautiful bushland setting, stunning sunsets and general outlook, so much wildlife, a couple of firepits and resident pet goats were our highlights. We are fairly self sufficient in our van so just used the bungalow to plug in to power, but lots of options here. We also loved the deck to set up table and chairs for outdoor meals with a view. Thanks Lauren, we'll be back!

A very peaceful, beautiful location. Lauren was lovely, welcoming and respectful of your privacy. I didn't use the Bungalow however it had everything you could need, If your deciding what hip camp to choose...choose this one.
