The Woodlander - Private Camp Site
This space was so wonderfully private and peaceful. The hobbit hut really separates this space from others, and makes camping here even more special, and it’s helpful for keeping things dry overnight if needed. It’s a great location on the island, too. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

5/5 stars. The woodlander is a great spot and being right in the middle of North and south bruny, the location was extremely convenient to all the attractions. The site itself was secluded and peaceful and the wood heater was very welcome on the winter nights when we stayed. The hobbit hut made cooking a breeze and was a handy add-on.

The camp ground was clean and very well laid out. It rained heaps whilst we were there but the site handled the weather without any issues. The fire was great and the hobbit hut was a nice dry spot with the wet weather. This is a very good winter camp ground. We can't wait to try it in the summer.

Another amazing stay at the woodlander, this time to show our parents a little of bruny island, they loved it and we where so happy to return!! Rachel the cookies and seasonal greens where sensational! (I hope other indulge in the extras too). Also love the new fire place, thanks so much, well be back. 🤩👏

What a great spot! Private, tucked away next to a lovely creek and amongst tall trees - and with a great wood heater and little hut to keep you dry on a rainy night. Will definitely be back :)

Loved this. Quiet all to you. A great way to get away from other campers if you want some solitude and a great spot to explore Bruny. Rachel also supplies the best fresh greens for a few extra $$$ epic :)

Great private site by a waterhole with a little shelter shed (the Hobbit Hut), picnic table, wood stove and composting loo. The site is nice and flat with shady trees (but not too shady 🌞). The location is nice and central to alot of Bruny attractions and the hosts communicate really well.

Fantastic campsite on beautiful Bruny the hobbit hut was a godsend in the end as we had a couple of days of weather and it made it so much nicer to sit and cook undercover, even a couple of couches. Fireplace is a ripper. Location great to explore all the island. Thanks for a great few days.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful and peaceful surrounds and the hobbit hut was perfect place to keep the kids entertained and duck out of the light rain we had unexpectedly. Fantastic extras as well and we cannot wait to come back.

This is a private spot to yourself with a hut with a couple of couches in it.a safe fire pit.compost toilet.we did all the exploring from here.3 nights we stayed.would definitely recommend and Rachel is a good communicator.

A beautiful space! We even opted for the organic greens which were bountiful and will be our dinner tonight. Our dogs loved being able to have a run around and we felt like the location is ideal too.

Surperb private campsite yet central to most of what Bruny Island has to offer. Really enjoyed the privacy this camp offers plus its facilities, a spotlessly clean composting toilet and a cute shelter shed complete with comfortable couches games and table. Didn’t use the outside fire heater but would be perfect in colder weather. The care and attention put into this camp places it above the rest and worth the price.

The Woodlander - Private Camp Site
The Woodlander private campsite was a little slice of heaven. Rachel made our stay even more special with some lovely local greens from the veggie patch along with some wood for having an relaxed camp fire in the new fireplace which was magnificent, kept us toasty warm . The dry composable toilet was very clean and hygienic making our experience so comfortable. Hanging out in the chill out Hobbit's hut after the end of a day exploring the best that Bruny has to offer, topped off this fantastic getaway. The site is so close to Adventure bay and great swimming beaches as well as Alonnah for a bit a the local Pub or a fish and a swim. It's the best of both worlds, while you return to the magnificent tress , birds and wildlife. We will most certainly be returning in the near future. Thank you Rachel for allowing us to recharge the human batteries with some serious RnR.

We had a wonderful stay at Woodlander Campsite! Rachel provided detailed and helpful information about the campsite, and her responses to our messages were very quick and friendly.
The campsite itself is peaceful and quiet, and waking up to the sound of birds singing in the morning was such a delightful experience. The toilet facilities were very clean, which we really appreciated.
The small cabin on-site was a great addition—it had some board games, as well as chairs, a table, and sofas. It rained the night we camped, and we were so grateful to have the cabin as a cozy retreat.
On clear nights, the stars and Milky Way are absolutely stunning. Overall, a fantastic camping experience—we’ll definitely be back!

Our Family loved camping in Rachel's back paddock. It was a great base location for us to explore the island. The directions given made it very easy to find and we were very surprised to find an beautiful set out camp spot that was all to ourselves, a large mowed area allowed for a game or two of cricket, a picnic table which made dinner times alot easier.
Absolutely recommend if you want to get away for a break without the hussle of other campers

The forest and its sounds is next level gorgeous.
Complete privacy was the win. The little hut is perfect and kept us dry when it rained one afternoon. Two picnic tables and a few camp chairs, with extras like mosquito repellent and fire starters were wonderful surprises. The toilet was a compost toilet which was very clean and a perfect addition. The placement for our tent was clean ground, not black sand like we saw at some of the 'free' camp sites. We had some issues finding drinking water on the island, it was near impossible and we had to purchase water at the decent IGA. We later found out you can refill caravans or containers for $2 there. There is a small dam on the property but we also couldn't assess this water for washing up or washing our hands. We purchased the wood bundle which was handy, and only needed half of it for 3 quick nightly fires. The 'bread fridge' is not far away and seems to restock throughout the day, the best sour dough in the world is $10 a loaf and you can bpay.
We didn't have any luck finding a nearby swim beach, but drove to adventure bay and swam at quiet corner, and also found a rope swing on the river at the other end of adventure bay.
We found visiting the lighthouse was overated, and could have saved on not buying the NP pass. The fluted cape circuit track was an amazing 2.5 hr walk.
I would definitely recommend this site!

The campground was central so it made it easy to explore the rest of the island. Perfect place to camp with a toilet that doesn't smell. We saw two sea Eagles fly low overhead. That was special.

Great communication from Rachael and accommodating, close to pub beach adventure Bay and shops, great meals at the pub but expensive, the site is flat and grassy and can have a fire, more a semi private side, traffic from the main road and simpson bay road leading to the site can be noisey from all the vehicles going past, apart from that we had a good 2 days there, the site is suitable for all types of camping,next time we will book the site with toilet and hut further along the road it looks alot more private and sheltered, thanks for having us Rachael 😀
