Best spot EVER!
One of the most beautiful places we've ever had the pleasure of staying at. Peaceful, excellent hookups, and wonderful hosts. Only wish we had stayed longer than the 5 days we had booked.

This is a beautiful and private place to camp. You truly feel you have the black hills to yourselves as you gaze across the miles and miles of sloping hills. The bonus is you have full hook-ups and gracious hosts. What a rare treat!

Laure's property is lovely, peaceful, private, and close to the great little college town of Spearfish, SD. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, including our campsite, which was well distanced from Laure's beautiful home on her 40 acre property. From our level and shaded site, we had a gorgeous view of the Black Hills and enjoyed sitting outside to drink in the scenery. A pubic use trail is located adjacent to the property, and our dogs enjoyed short hikes. We both agree this is one of the best places we have ever stayed because we love to be remote yet close to shopping in town. From here, we took a fun day trip to Devil's Tower. We highly recommend three restaurants within a 10 minute drive in Spearfish (Antunez, Killian's, and Steerfish). We are now on our way to Custer and Glacier having traveled from the North Georgia mountains, and we are so happy we chose this amazing place for a 5 day stop. Full hook-ups and gracious hosts make this site truly ideal. Thank you Laure!

Beautiful views & groomed property.
We absolutely enjoyed our week on the property. Well groomed and maintained. Beautiful views of Crow Peak, and sunsets over the South Dakota Plains. There is access to an open space trail right next to the property if you like short hikes. Site #1 has the most shade, but the views are kind of obscured by trees. Site #3 has a beautifully groomed yard, pine trees, and a great view of the Prairie and sunsets. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. 15 minutes from downtown Spearfish. We would definitely stay there again!

Peaceful scenic site!
This was a great place for us to stay overnight. We were the only ones and got to hangout w the cows in the field next door. The site was gravel with water and electric hookups as well as a dump station. The views were absolutely stunning! Definitely worth the stay, wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Impeccable views, easy access - 10+
This is the last best place - hands down one of our favorite spots! The views are incredible and the pics do not even do it justice. It’s quiet, close to spearfish downtown, an easy ride over to sturgis and endless access to all amenities!
The spots are leveled, water pressure regulator is provided, and easy spot offers easy connections - plus there is a loop you can turn around in with ease when it’s time to leave.
Lots of shade available and there is a walking trail located right there next to the property.
It’s safe, no traffic, quiet, and just perfect! This will be our go to spot in South Dakota every time we visit!
Phil and Laure are awesome, so nice and great hosts! We had a few rv issues when we arrived and Phil went above and beyond to help us.
Phil even offered food recommendations and they were AWESOME! Buffalo jump was def one of the best steaks we’ve ever had!
If you’re riding a motorcycle - the roads are no problem. It’s easy to get in and out with ease.

The Best Place for Sunsets
We absolutely loved our stay. The location was perfect - easy access to Spearfish, local breweries, and area outdoor pursuits, while still having a quiet place to relax and enjoy the Hills. The sunsets over the prairie were amazing! Hosts were exceptionally accommodating, and went out of their way to ensure our group could share the buddy camp sites. (Site #2 & #3). Full hookups, level sites, and seclusion without the hustle & bustle of resort-style campgrounds = absolute perfection!

Quiet Retreat
Nice quiet place to rest and recharge. We took a bike ride in the morning and saw deer and beautiful views and met the neighbor who gave us some great tips on where to take the kids for hikes. Don’t skip Devils Bathtub! It was a fun hike across and through the creek to some natural water slides.

This property is absolutely beautiful and extremely well kept. We saw deer every day. We had the place to ourselves and had a great time just relaxing away from the crowds. There are 2 spots right next to each other but after a typical RV park, you still have LOTS of room. Thanks for letting us stay.

Wonderful Stay - We Will Be Back!
My wife and I had a ten day retreat at Crow Peak's Last Best Place. Five stars all across the board! This was probably the best time we have had camping (we don't tend do do a lot except kick back with a good book and enjoy the quiet). Campfires are not allowed, but we were able to have a gas fire-ring, which was great. Bring a pressure regulator for the water hookup on your camper, the water pressure on site is very strong. A good surge protector for your electrical is also never a bad idea. The campsites are at the end of a gravel road, so if you don't like gravel ... well, you should try anyway, gravel isn't so bad and the campsites are such a welcome change from the commercial campgrounds. We are definitely going to be back!
From the campsite it is a short distance to Crow Peak hiking trail (very strenuous, steep, and precipitous in places, so take it slowly - it took us flatlanders about four and half hours to get to the top and back). Also, there is an awesome little hidden waterfall off the beaten path on Sandy Creek just across the boarder in WY. (Turn west on Homestake Road several miles to a right on Sand Creek Road and watch for the public fishing access on the West side of the road. The waterfall is back in the trees on the creek.).

Restful Retreat at Crow Peaks Feet
This cozy site has left the best impressions! Phil was a very hospitable host along with his wife Laure, beautiful location for sunrise. We felt like we were away from it all while still being close enough to run into town for dinner. I recommend this Hipcamp location and I would like to come back here again and again.

Crow Peak's was a nice site! Pretty views, the smell of pine in the breeze, there is fresh sod put down for the doggos, pull through is possible.
There isnt much traffic at all except people parking and visiting the game land adjacent to the lot.

Great location in the hills
This was a great location to Spearfish, Deadwood & Devil’s Tower for us. Hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. It was a great site with full hookups and nice and quiet in the hills. A few more flies than we like, but not sure how to change that. Overall a great stay and we would come back again if we needed somewhere to stay in the area! Thank you!!
