Rocky Dale Campsite
We were a group of 8 friends and this was our third time staying at this campsite. Another brilliant experience! The place is well-kept, relaxing, and always enjoyable. Luke and his partner are fantastic hosts — friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful spot and such a lovely hosts. Our kids loved exploring and seeing lots of kangaroos. Our kids absolutely fell in love with Lola their dog who would come when the kids called her and played all day long with them such a highlight! Hosts were so accommodating and great with communication we will 100 % be back again (our kids want to come back every weekend!) Thanks again! Best off grid stay so far!

Lovely grassy paddock site and area to explore. The only downside was that the site was very close to the road which was busier than we imagined it would be. It was great to have the space to ourselves and enjoy a campfire but limited flat ground for tenting, the caravan was great though.

Such a great spot. Great views and a large area you get all to yourself. 15 mins to victor so shopping is easy, but still feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. Luke was welcoming and very helpful, would recommend!

Rocky Dale Campsite
We all loved our time at Rocky Dale, the views were beautiful and it was lovely and quiet. The information about the site was accurate and Luke was very responsive to messages, ensuring communication was easy and our questions were answered. The visits from Sherlock and Lola, Luke’s dogs, were a wonderful bonus and our kids absolutely loved playing with them, especially Lola. We will definitely stay again in the future!

We loved our stay at Rocky Dale, it was absolutely perfect with our young child for our first camping trip - we felt safe and were warmly welcomed by Luke and Alyssa and their friendly dogs. Such a beautiful place and hidden gem. We were close to amenities, local attractions and hikes, and still had reception, but felt like we were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by stunning nature and wildlife. The adjacent road wasn’t a problem, as it was pretty quiet. The campsite was really well maintained and we were so happy to have some shade from the trees. Very grateful for the experience. Thank you!

Great little spot in a beautiful location, area was grassed and had shade from large trees. We were given eggs upon arrival and the dogs made the stay fun for the kids. Would stay again.

Absolutely gorgeous hosts. We cannot thank them enough for how accommodating they are, they looked after us during our first ever hip camp trip. Stunning view over a gully and even though the weather was a little overcast the native bushland was absolutely stunning. Suprise visit from a kangaroo or two and their stunning dogs are very friendly. Thankyou again and what a fantastic spot! We will be back <3

Information on how to deal with the lack of facilities would be beneficial. And there was livestock being loaded onto transport nearby throughout our first night, including gunshots. Just meant a poor sleep the first night. Second night was fine. Communication with the host was friendly and easy. Beautiful outlook down the nearby valley.

Our family loved our stay at Rocky Dale campsite! The campsite was really well kept, with plenty of green grass, a great fire pit and great views. Alyssia & Luke were super welcoming and friendly, as were their dogs Lola & Sherlock :) Our kids loved playing in the creek, visiting the chickens and the playful visits from Lola & Sherlock!
It’s also directly next to the conservation park so plenty of kookaburras & kangaroos.
Highly recommend.

Another wonderful stay at Rocky Dale! Excellent hosts, great to talk with and exceptionally passionate about their land and the area, providing some great recommendations! Lola and Sherlock make the stay feel like home. Look forward to returning 10/10.

Its a beautiful farm, great and safe camping place for couple of nights.
The hosts ,Luke&Elissia, are so friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We brought our 2yo daughter who had an absolute ball with Luke & Elissia’s beautiful dog Lola.

Luke has a beautiful property and in a great location for touring the southern coastline and close to amenities if you forget something! It is quite close to the road however that didn’t bother us at all as it is a very quiet road with only had a handful of cars during the day with none went past at night. Saw kangaroos and loved that is was just a single campsite that we had just to ourselves. We would definitely stay again.

We had an amazing time. It's a beautiful spot, and Luke was a great host, even offering us extra firewood on the second night, and his dog Lola visited us daily for a play with the kids. It's secluded while being close to things to do, we drove to Port Elliott and Horseshoe Bay for the day. The only drawback is that the campsite is really close to a sealed road, not a main road but it's busy enough, and we were close enough to make eye contact and wave to drivers as they went past!

We had a great weekend at the Rocky Dale site. It has lovely views on hills and is right adjacent to a conservation park. There is a small creek running through a gully lower from the site. The site itself is a nice grassy spot with a large gum tree in the centre perfect for providing some shade. There is a nice rock lined firepit further up in the field for campfires for which the owner kindly provided some firewood. The site is slightly on a slope but we managed to get our trailer level Ok. The only thing to note is that the site is off Nettle Hill Rd and there is some visibility from infrequent traffic.
The owners dogs visited us on the last day only briefly once. Had a quick sniffle and they were off again. Very friendly and shy dogs.
What was a pleasant surprise was how close the site was to a number of nice attractions and top restaurants. The first one is the Softfoot Farm which is an Alpaca farm and a wildlife sanctuary which also have a nice restaurant for lunches. The second one is The Lost Phoenix Farm which we found to be a little gem. Very easy going, very friendly staff and really nice food. Thirdly are the Hindmarsh Falls. And all within less than 10 minutes drive from Nettle Hill Rd. Victor Harbor is also only about a 15m drive.
