Loads of fishing and lots of beaches to explore why not choose this quieter alternative to relax in between all the activities?Melaleuca is a rustic cabin set on 70 acres of virgin native vegetation. It is perfect for nature walks along the cliff tops and birdwatching. The cabin maximises the scenic views of the bay, spanning from Venus Bay to Port Kenny, with wonderful sunsets. It is a two-bedroom eco-friendly, pet-friendly cabin with a new kitchen fitted with a dishwasher and microwave, and a reverse cycle air conditioner. The cabin runs on solar energy. The owners do not live onsite and the cabin is accessible only by a dirt road. Melaleuca features an open-plan design, with a small master bedroom containing an orthopaedic queen-size mattress and a semi-detached bedroom that has two single beds, two bunk beds, and a double bed. There is a potbelly stove for heating, a reverse cycle air conditioner for cooling, and ceiling fans (we recommend not leaving the air conditioner on after dark to conserve power). A family-size stove, microwave, dishwasher, cooking utensils, crockery, and cutlery are all supplied. A gas BBQ is in the outdoor entertaining area, which captures the stunning views and tranquility of the place, plus there is a common outdoor wood BBQ and campfire area. The shower and toilet, located on the back veranda, have hot and cold rainwater available. Melaleuca has an electric fridge/freezer. For your enjoyment, there is a TV/DVD and a stereo system with a CD player. A laundry is available for those staying seven days or more. A second smaller cabin is available if required. Melaleuca is accessible by a dirt road. LOW-KEY ECO-FRIENDLY SETUP A great way to support the environment, this cabin is completely eco-friendly! It is powered by solar panels and wind generators, with backup batteries and a backup generator. The water supply is rainwater, so we ask that you be water-wise and take short showers. You are required to clean the cabin when you leave, so please be prepared to give it a thorough clean, leaving it for the next visitors as you would like to find it. Alternatively, if you wish to pay for the cleaning, we can arrange this. We also ask that you respect the tranquility and uniqueness of the property. Please be responsible for all family members and guests in your group (e.g., no excessive noise, no hooning, no wandering around other private dwellings on the property, and tidy up after yourselves). If you are bringing a pet, please be a responsible pet owner and respect the wildlife. Guests have access to the entire cabin. The owners do not live on the property. Please respect the privacy of other cabins on the property. Electricity is powered by wind and solar energy. Please conserve energy overnight or if the weather is cloudy to ensure you have ample power, otherwise, you may need to run the generator. The water is supplied by rainwater tanks, so please use it conservatively. We ask guests to supply their own linen, or it can be hired for $5 a set. We also ask guests to leave the cabin clean and tidy.
