Beautiful views. Great set up with winery and pizza restaurant on site for those wanting something with more fancy than camp food (11am-4pm). Accommodating hosts. Clean and well stocked flushing toilet at the restaurant available for hipcampers. Plenty of birds and skippys on site. Recommended A+

We loved staying here in our caravan! The views were absolutely stunning. It was peaceful and quiet. It was an easy process to get there and being shown to our spot. My daughter loved spotting the kangaroos! Staff at Gods Hill were so welcoming/helpful! We would love to stay here again ☺️

Friendly host who went out of his way to make us comfortable and welcome. Beautiful site: it doesn’t get much more awesome than sunrise in the vineyard. Easy walking distance to Lyndoch and a good base for full day hikes to Tanunda or other parts of the Barossa !

Camping on a slope

Whilst the outlook was lovely, there was no level area to position a vehicle or a tent. No fires were allowed, contrary to the written description on the Hipcamp site. The toilets were located up the hill behind the house. We were essentially camping in their front yard ? The whole experience didn’t equate to a fee of $60 or what we expect from Hipcamp.

Brilliant camping spot. Kangaroos at dusk, stunning sunset and surrounds and an even better host. Wish we had more time there to experience the food, we bought heaps of their amazing wine. Highly recommended, better if your fully self contained it is a hike to the one toilet.

Wine and hospitality to remember

Our stay with Charlie and his family at God’s Hill was exactly what we wanted from a HipCamp in the Barossa Valley. Not just a beautiful place to spend a couple of nights but a rare opportunity to sit and talk with an experienced wine maker about his craft. And of all the wines we bought while in the valley we have found Charlie’s to be the standouts.

It was spacious and quiet. The closest campers to us were about 50metres away, so it was lovely and private. We were there at the end of Summer so it was quite dry which is natural. It just means we need to go back again at the end of Winter :0)

Vineyard Gather Round

A warm and friendly welcome from Charlie after a long drive across the Nullarbor. We had a beautiful pizza and glass of wine before setting up camp down by the vines. The campsite was spacious and a walk down the hill from the restaurant and cellar door so private - the sunrise over the vines so lovely each morning. We ate at the restaurant a few times and Edward’s food was always great, enjoyed with good wine served by Rhylan, so friendly and helpful. Desserts were particularly yum! Can walk to town and a great base to explore the region. Lovely to chat to Ennia as well and next visit look forward to a drink at the bar Rhylan.

Barossa's Italy

We enjoyed camping at Gods Hill Winery. The views are stunning. Charlie was very friendly and knowledgable. We spent the afternoon at the restaurant. The food is the most authentic Italian cuisine I have had in Australia. The red wine was excedptional. Pizza to die for and great coffee too. We will most certainly be back and I will be ordering some of that 3 generation shiraz online. Thanks for a great stay and thankyou for welcoming our pooches too.

2 night tent stay

Didn’t really know what to expect when I booked Gods Hill but on arriving we were treated to such beautiful views across the valley and Charlie and family/staff were the most wonderful hosts. The food and wine was fantastic, our tent site was on flatish ground which was fine for sleeping on. There was a good area amongst the trees at the bottom of the hill where other campers were also staying. Toilet was easily accessible and clean. Charlie was great host. Would definitely come back and stay again.

Beautiful winery to drive into and restaurant had amazing food. Unfortunately camp area was in dusty, bushy space away from vineyard so not the view or aesthetic we thought we would have. Very expensive stay considering no power or water. Told water could be provided at extra charge? Toilet was far and required a drive in the car to get to it from our site, only 1 toilet servicing the restaurant and campers. Very small space provided considering for setup considering we booked 4 sites.

Beautiful views at the cellar door, Charlie and his family were very welcoming. The young waiter Rylan was fantastic, very knowledgeable and made the experience fun. The pizza was to die for. I would recommend anyone to come for a visit. We will be back for sure

Overpriced for where we were parked and stayed 1 night. We were camping on a dirt pit. I know it's dry but a little maintenance and small amount of water to have the grass grow would have made the world of difference. View was good though.

The view is amazing especially as the full moon was shining. The camp is close to town which has a fantastic bakery and the cafe next door had a wonderful breakfast. I highly recommend that you are fully self contained and there is only one toilet and one tap for drinking water. It is so quiet at night so you get a good nights sleep and wake up to birdsong. Please respect the rules so this camp can continue.
