Easy to find. Bush setting with water views and close to town. Well equipped camp kitchen. The dog sites are genius. And there really was green grass! Clean facilities.

Great space and views. Probably would have liked to be informed that the portables were locked beforehand as the walk to the other toilets was a bit hard at times for my wife. But the place is amazing and we loved the views

The sites are exactly as pictured, lovely green grass. Very clean ammenities and honestly a view that has to be believed! Our host was great, showed us our site, gave us a quick rundown and then left us be.
There was a school camp on in the adjacent camp area the day we arrived and they went home the next day, but they didnāt cause much noise or any trouble. However, we arenāt the sort of touring campers to hang around camp. We like places that are scenic to wake up to, secure to leave your van etc while out exploring and something nice to come back to for a cook up & shower.
My family of 4 plus one happy border collie dog, had a terrific 3 night stay enjoying Victor Harbour and 2 day trips from our lovely base camp to McLarenvale and Hahndorf. Thank you Cooinda and for being pet friendly.

We loved it Cooinda Retreats in the prime spot (site 2b), with amazing views, beautiful camp ground, amazing camp kitchen and close proximity to Victor Harbor.
We will be back.

We booked Cooinda Retreats as there was nothing else available in Victor Harbor, and I was pleasantly surprised. We stayed on site 2A, which was enclosed and felt private, with beautiful views out to the ocean ā a lovely bonus.
Weāre not usually fans of portable toilets and showers, but they did the job. The container in the shower kept everything dry, which was a thoughtful touch. However, the light in the shower didnāt work, and the toilet seemed to run out of water ā a bit of an issue when it comes to avoiding splashback.
Interestingly, we seemed to be one of the few using the portable amenities, as most people wandered off to use the main ablution block attached to the retreat. While the curators encourage guests to raise any concerns, I didnāt bother this time, as they hadnāt responded to me previously via the Hipcamp app.
Overall though, it was a pleasant stay ā simple but all we needed for a one-night stopover.

We had a really enjoyable stay over Easter, it was great to have a fenced site to keep our dogs and toddler locked in. It was also lovely to have a hot shower. Iām sure we will be back.

Cooinda Retreats was the perfect base for our night at Victor Harbour. Nice grassy spot for us to park our small van. Well kept campgrounds in elevated bush setting at the back of Victor Harbour. Convenient camp kitchen and portable toilets and showers. Good vibe here and great to hear it supports a worthy cause.

This place is peaceful and beautiful. My son and I had a great time staying here. It's fuss free. Got all the amenities that is needed. I was a bit worried at first when we were told the showers are portable but to be honest, the showers are amazing š We will definitely be back

We had a beautiful 3 night stay at Cooinda Retreat site 2B has a magnificent view of the ocean. Our 30ft caravan fit just fine. Peaceful and beautiful, ticking all the boxes for us. Highly recommend. Thanks guys āš¼

Overall, we had a nice experience, loved sleeping under the stars and hearing the sounds of the waves. The pet enclosure was great means our dog can be off leash inside. Site was close to town and the beaches.
Unfortunately, there were just some inconsiderate people in the nearby cabins who talked loudly and their kids making noises way past 10pm also some dogs who were very yappy and barky. Management didnāt seem to do much but this site is run by volunteers so they might not have been around overnight.
Lastly, there were many ants and several ant nests/holes on the grass close to where we can pitch our tent. And lots of ants at the camp kitchen. But all of these were easily controlled with bugs spray so thatās all good.

What a fantastic spot and hosts. We accidentally set up on the wrong part of the camp.. totally our mistake! We were told this was ok and did not have to move. PHEW! Such a lovley relaxing 2 nights with the dog in a secure place. Beautiful view, good facilities, great location!

We spent a lovely 3 nights on site 2A. Our dog loved the freedom. The caretaker was helpful and friendly when we had a bit of trouble figuring out the sites. Views were awesome. There was a school camp in for the first few days but we didnāt really hear them at all. Short drive into Victor or bike ride. We will definitely book again.

Overall my camping experience went well. The surroundings is calm, silent and peaceful with bushes, trees and green grasses. Its a good retreat but require more assist to clean public toilet timely for it was terrible. And the kitchen was dusty and ants. The navigation for areas was not clear. It would help a lot if they plot a ara number in each area. It took more than an hour to find my camp area.
At last I am happy for the surroundings and camping. But facility and navigation must be improved.
If these changes are made . It will be one of the best area to stay around victor harbor for nature lovers.

We used our caravan at sites 3a. We stayed the first week of tern, so the place was very quite, which we like. We had a nice shady spot with lawn. A bit of bird activity and great ocean views. A school camp did come while we were there but that didn't bother us. Would stay again if we were down that way.
