Coober Pedy Views is located on the fringe of Coober Pedy and offers a unique outback camping experience for guests who are more adventurous and prefer privacy and a secure location. New Driveway is completed.... In 2019 I was sitting in my Alfresco Area feeling that the beauty offered in front of my property should be shared to people I thought might appreciate a different aspect to Coober. Since that time I have probably had 2000+ guests enjoy what Coober Pedy Views has to offer. Whilst it remains a rustic type setting, with campers needing to be SELF SUFFICIENT (CURRENTLY NO PUBLIC AMMENITIES AVAILABLE) Current Building Project - FLUSHING LOO Completion Est'd End of October '25 - I can offer Power (subject to availability) to 6/8 sites. Digging anywhere on the property is forbidden, there are no Opals on CPVs evident when the 3 large garages were dug. Digging softens the ground making it dangerous for avalanches on the embankments and walls especially after rain that creates washouts as you can see on the front embankments and the ugliness makes me sad to see. Our Public Noodling Area is the only place in Coober safe to dig freely. Bookings can be made via Hipcamp.com and more information via WikiCamp.com

If you’re lucky enough to see a lightning show In Coober Pedy, they rarely disappoint. Lots of attractions around town, eateries, Museums, and of course the Opal shops to oooh and ahh over the beautiful displays and pieces of jewelry available, learn the history of Opals, chat with long standing Coober Pedians in town and discover the the sense of humour developed living in the middle of OZ. Enjoy our wonderful weather, yes sometimes we have rain and when we do, I marvel at the puddles down Hutchinson street, it’s not something we see often. Don’t forget to try your hand at noodling, a real favourite with the kids and gives them their own fossicked opal to take home and show their friends and Nana and Poppa. I’ll try to inspire you with things to do, where to go, who to meet for a memorable experience during your stay Mud Map Stuart Highway, turn right onto Hutchinson St Pass the BIG4 and turn next right at Flinders St, noting the Boot (got knicked) on the sign post (boot hill). Continue on the bitumen which turns into Potch Gully Road. Passing the power plant on the right, continue until the bitumen runs out and turn immediate left. At the fork, turn right.
