Just 5 kms from Mt Barker, this 85 acre working horse property offers sweeping views across the Bugle Ranges from a sweeping hilltop site. There is a natural creek with a concreted bridge crossing, beautiful post and rail fencing and pastures with old big gum trees. Your campsite is enclosed by fencing on a hilltop. Wake up to the sunrise over the ranges, overlooking green fields of horses and spring foals grazing. Please note that this is a working farm, so the horses will be handled by staff during the day, but your campsite will no be disturbed. If you are seeking to unplug and love horses, Brookside is perfect for you! FINDING THE CAMPSITE: 1. Enter the property through the main gate 2. Turn LEFT after getting through the gate 3. Go ~200m along the gravel road, crossing over a small concreted bridge 4. Continue ~100m up the hill after the cross 5. Turn RIGHT at the Y Junction (away from the house to the LEFT) 6. Follow the laneway up the Hill for ~ 350m, until you reach a gateway at the Hilltop site. 7. Park and camp anywhere in the mowed hilltop area, staying within the fenced after after the gate. Any questions, please message us! THINGS TO KNOW: 1. WORKING FARM- This is a working farm, meaning livestock, machines and owners are sometimes at work elsewhere on the property during daylight hours (including weekends). 2. CAMP AREA- You must keep to the designated campsite- do cross fences, enter paddocks, go into outbuildings, climb on machinery or interact with the livestock. 3. HORSES- there are stallions, foals and pregnant mares on the property, which can be unpredictable and sometimes defensive. Please DO NOT feed, pat or go into the yards with any horses for your own safety. 4. CFS & PETS- Strictly NO campfires due to bushfire risks and NO pets due to biosecurity for farm animals. 5. PHOTOS- Photography is welcome of the landscape and outlook, but we request no photos of people and our working operations. No drones please.A long curving driveway leads over a creek (concreted crossing) and through a beautiful avenue of post and rail fencing up hill to a private grassed campsite. The hill is easily passable in an SUV, but a 4WD would be required for the hill if towing a reasonable sized trailer or caravan. The road is graveled, and your private site offers sweeping 360 degree views, offering sunrise and sunset views. Horses graze within 50 meters of the site, and the neighbors property occasionally has young cattle grazing within 20 meters of the site. Plenty of nearby big gum trees are home to wedge tailed eagles, black cockatoos, koalas and kangaroos, foxes and rabbits frequent the site. Down the valley, there is a small Dam, which is home to a colony of frogs called Pobblebonks (legitimately their name!) sign nightly. Modest campfires are allowed on site, subject to CFS advice.

Peaceful oasis, great location
26 ft travel trailer ·
Erin and Luke were such welcoming hosts. The site was very accessible, we had the whole site to ourselves and a beautiful view over the horses at the farm. Our kids even got to bottle feed a new foal which they loved. The property is close enough to Mt Barker, Hahndorf etc for great food and wine but far enough away for a peaceful nights sleep. Adelaide is only 35-45 mins drive away so day trips into the city without the hassle of the van were easy, as was the departure to the east the day we left - saving us roughly an hour of driving that day. We will certainly be back.

A Hilltop in the Adelaide Hills
29 ft travel trailer ·
We had a wonderful time in a lovely setting, surrounded by horses. During this season, a refreshing breeze was most welcome due to the heat. Karin and Luke were warm and discreet hosts. The location was perfect for exploring and discovering the wonders of the Adelaide Hills.

Great spot for a quick weekender. Gives good access to Mount Barker area and close to Strath also. Vendor was most welcoming and we had plenty of privacy.

Peaceful and quiet
15 ft pop-up camper ·
We found paradise tucked away just outside of Adelaide at this peaceful campsite. It was the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Erin, the campsite owner, was a delight – patient and helpful, she answered all our questions. Accessing the campsite was a breeze, even with our loaded car and camper, and the designated spot offered stunning views of the valley below. But the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the herd of friendly horses grazing in the next paddock. Watching them frolic in the golden afternoon light was pure magic, and their soft whinnies were the soundtrack to our relaxation. If you're seeking a quiet retreat in nature, just a stone's throw from the city, this campsite is an absolute gem. We can't wait to return for another dose of fresh air and equine charm!
