Bendleby Ranges is an adventure tourism destination, located on a working sheep and cattle station in the Flinders Ranges, an easy three and a half hours drive North of Adelaide. We offer serenity and tranquility in an unspoilt natural environment, with remote campsites nestled amongst gum lined creeks and set into the hills of the Bendleby Ranges. Private powered or un-powered campsites in the main camp ground are surrounded by native pines and located within walking distance to the Sunset Camp Kitchen. Affordable, well presented, quality accommodation decorated in country inspired styles are Crotta Homestead, Gumdale Cottage, Acacia Cottage and The Shearers Quarters. We are passionate about maintaining the natural environment and for the length of your stay all firewood is supplied. Relax and take in all the property has to offer - from 4wding, bushwalking, horse riding, mountain bike riding, incredible sunset views and some world class star gazing.

Our campsites are the perfect location for rest and recreation, a weekend getaway, hiking or bird watching. Situated amongst pine and gum trees, along river and creek beds with showers and toilets close by for the main camp ground and a short drive from the remote sites. They are a great place to unwind at the end of the day with campsites offering privacy, shelter and amazing views of the night sky. We supply wood for normal heating and cooking purposes and to maintain the natural environment. Our property - Bendleby Ranges is an adventure tourism destination, located on a working sheep and cattle station in the Flinders Ranges, an easy three and a half hours drive North of Adelaide.

Our main campground is situated around the Sunset Camp Kitchen, amongst pine and gum trees, with a short walk to the showers and toilets. All campsites have fire rings and firewood is provided. One campsite has a large shelter which can be utilized for larger groups and in case of wet weather.  Additionally, we have a sheltered campsite located close to the shearing shed and yards for those horse enthusiasts who wish to bring their horses and explore the Bendleby and Hungry Ranges.

Acacia Cottage is a fully self-contained 2 bedroom cottage near the airstrip at ‘The Springs’. Situated on the creek bank with views of the Hungry Ranges, it is ideal for fly-in groups or small families.The cottage has a separate kitchen/dining room, a bathroom with shower, toilet and hand basin, 2 bedrooms – one with a double bed, and one with a double bunk – sleeping a total of 4 people. The cottage is heated and cooled with reverse-cycle air conditioning, with a fully equipped kitchen. The main Shearers’ Quarters building provides comfortable accommodation for up to 16. Featuring 2 KS rooms, 1 TS room, 1 room with 2 bunks, and 2 rooms with 3 singles, all equipped with air conditioners and ceiling fans. There is a bunkhouse which accommodates 16. There is a separate toilet/shower block with 3 showers and toilets, and a bathroom in the main building. The dining/living room features a cosy wood fire and split system air conditioner. Fully equipped kitchen, BYO food and linen. Built in 1890’s, Crotta Homestead is a charming classic country style 5 bedroom stone homestead. The main living areas are air conditioned with ceiling fans, and a cosy slow combustion wood heater in the lounge – a great place to relax and enjoy at the end of your daily adventures at Bendleby Ranges. Featuring a fully equipped kitchen, just bring your food, drinks and toiletries. Linen is provided. A spacious outdoor entertaining area with gas BBQ, pizza oven and dining table and chairs. Gumdale Cottage is a charming fully self-contained 3 bedroom cottage. Nestled in the ranges with native pines and a gum creek at the back door, it is a very picturesque setting. With a separate dining room with reverse cycle air conditioning and slow combustion wood heater, unwind after a busy day at Bendleby Ranges. Sleeping 8, Gumdale Cottage has 2 bedrooms with queen beds and one bedroom with two double bunks. An outside covered dining area with gas BBQ is the ideal place to get together. Great remote camping with a composting toilet, firewood supplied including kindling. Great variety of 4WD tracks & sunset views. Great spot!

Stunning campsite. So off grid and peaceful. Great trails for biking, driving and hiking. Cracking views. Really good facilities all round. Also you will not meet a more welcoming couple than Warren and Jane. Recommend it highly.

Great two nights at Bendleby Ranges. Did the four wheel drive suggested by Kylie. Beautiful views and a bit scary at times! Beautiful campsite, very well managed and fantastic showers!

Fabulous time at Bendleby Ranges. We had a nice fairly private spot (Hillview) in the main campground area near the bathroom (which was a nice surprise as it was very modern with hot shower and flushing toilet). Plenty of wood for a fire both nights. Drove out to Hidden Valley and did the easier circuit walk through the creek bed which was still a really good walk. Dirt road into the property was in good condition and easily accessible with my 2wd van. Will come back and stay longer next time

We had a fabulous few days at Bendelby Ranges. Perfect weather and we loved the 4 wheel driving, the large camp site not too close to others and in a beautiful spot, and the clean amenities block and well-equipped camp kitchen not too far away. Everyone was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Robyn gave us excellent information and even showed us through the shearer's quarters should we wish to return with a group. We would highly recommend! Thanks so much! Congratulations also on the recent national tourism award you received. Absolutely deserved.

Bendleby Ranges Remote Campsites
Love the remoteness of this place! We stayed at the Saw Pit site and there were facilities nearby if needed, but you wouldn’t even think you’re close to anything when set up! We also ventured out to the low-medium skill 4wd tracks and it was beautiful.

Kylie and Charlie were very welcoming and also provided us a campsite with a shelter as we knew there were forecasts of rain (and rain it did...over 2 inches). Great spot for 4wd enthusiasts. Will definitely be back to try out some more 4wd tracks.

Bendleby Ranges Remote Campsites
Had a wonderful 3 nights. Spacious campsites with fire pits and firewood, many 4x4 tracks catering for all experience levels. The driving map was excellent as was the little gift shop. Ensuite bathrooms (shared) were clean and well maintained with flushing toilets with plenty of pipping hot water. Would definitely come back.

Perfect getaway
Acacia Cottage
Acacia Cottage has everything you need if you want to get away from it all but have more luxury than camping! The cottage is well equipped, the bed is comfy, the views are gorgeous and it is QUIET. Oh, and if you want to see stars, this is your spot - zero light pollution makes for stunning viewing. One thing to note - the Hipcamp listing says the property is pet friendly. When I arrived, they clarified that pets should be kept outside. They were kind enough to come to an agreement that my dogs could sleep in the non-carpeted bunk room (because the listing doesn't specify and because it was very hot) but, if you're planning on taking your indoor dog, I would check with them first.

Bendleby Ranges Remote Campsites
Idyllic location with great amenities. So much wildlife to see and great walking tracks. The camp sites are well laid out to offer privacy. Highly recommended!
