Our campsites are on a private cattle property only 20 mintues west of Mareeba overlooking a beautiful dam with an amazing view of the Arriga Hills in the background. Enjoy the large variety of bird life on and around the water. Relax to the stunning sunsets and simply enjoy the piece and quite of our little slice of heaven. We offer 10 camp sites to suit self-contained campers who bring their own toilet/shower and water supply. No campfires and guests must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but are required to remain within your campsite and must be restrained during the night due to wildlife.The site is positioned along the southern end of the dam where you will be able to soak up the beautiful sunsets and the amazing opportunity to see over 50 different species of birdlife on and around the dam. Plenty of room for pets and also to enjoy your own peace and quite.

Tranquillity at its best.

The central dam is effectively the size of a small lake, creating an immediate and impressive bird habitat. We were lucky to watch Brolgas, jacannas, and other waterbirds feed and rest along its edges, offering excellent viewing. The retreat is incredibly peaceful but remains conveniently close to the amenities in Mareeba. This provides a perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. Brook was a lovely host who gave excellent recommendations for local sightseeing. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay with great birdwatching.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Heaps of space, easy access and such beautiful, peaceful scenery. Ended up extending our stay twice.

The camp sites are situated on a well kept strip between gum trees and the dam. The ground is level and very accessible. The sunset over the dam was gorgeous as was the sunrise through the gum trees the next day. On a clear night this spot would be great for sky photos. Brooke was very responsive to messages, we meet her and the kids when we arrived they were lovely.

Tranquil camping under the stars

I stayed at Kimaloo feedlot Dam last night, located just 20 minutes from Mareeba. The camp is set in a tranquil space on a beautiful property. The site provided a serene environment and plenty of bird watching. Perfect for a peaceful, back-to-nature experience. Highly recommended for those who enjoy peaceful spacious camping and natural beauty.
