Warrego Warmblood Stud is an operational horse training property set on a secluded 60 acres just outside Woodford. There is a lovely private dam to camp beside or in amongst some beautiful trees with no one in ear shot, or you can camp in the empty paddock. Or Book a Horseback Forest Trail Ride . Campfires are permitted within local regulations. The campsites are dog friendly (on a lead). There are no amenities here,  campers must BYO camping toilet. Allowed small fires and some timber available in the paddocks. Woodford is a little taste of country right on the city’s doorstep. An easy day trip from Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, this quaint and quiet town is a perfect getaway destination with a little something for everyone. The Woodford region is steeped in history and retains much of its yesteryear charm. The historic pub still stands proudly on the main road through town, while quaint turn-of-the-century buildings house quirky shops and eateries.

approx 40 acres to find a shady site to pitch your tent or park your caravan or camper. When we run events, this will be the main camping option. Please bear with us as this is a new idea, and we hope that we can make a fun weekend for everyone. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. For the duration of the event, we'll have a portable toilet down in that paddock to use.

Fantastic host. Really friendly and accommodating.. Robert even offered us to rock up before check in time because there wasnt anyone there b4 us. Highly recommend to stay when there is a near by festival happening in Woodford

It was our first time camping here and we will be coming back. We were camped far enough away from everyone that we felt really secluded. The friendly horses visiting our camp were a big hit. They were very cheeky and very inquistive. The goanna that went up the tree near us didn't want to stay for a chat. We did have a not so friendly visit of a red bellied black snake making its way through our camp. It soon slithered away not bothering us after it reslised we were there. Good reminder for making sure all of us especially the kids are snake aware and you carry appropriate first aid. All in all it was a fantastic camp with an abundance of creatures great and small for us to watch.

Definitely be going back. Nice secluded camp site at Sandons Dam. Horses were amazing. They got a bit curious with the camp when we went out for a few hours lol. Mozzies come out right at dusk but then disappeared within an hour. Hosts were easy to communicate with. Dom the on site dog is a sweetheart and loves cuddles. There is telstra reception available, so I got to watch the Broncos win the grand final from the camp site! Cheers Robert we will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed the camping experience. Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing with lots of bird life. Loved the beautiful friendly horses too. Great camping spot for sure.

It's so peaceful and quiet. The horses are lovely and just trundle on by to the dam. It's a lovely spot. Would definitely go again.

Such a beautiful, peaceful, and private spot surrounded by pine trees. The horses are incredibly friendly and love attention, which made the stay even more special. The fireplace kept us cozy and warm, and our dogs absolutely loved having the open space to explore. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and private getaway. Just be sure to pack some mosquito spray for extra comfort!

We took our 2 young grandchildren for a weekend. Camp was lovely and quiet and private in a clearing between the pine trees. They loved visiting the horses which were very friendly. Will probably come again with our other grandchildren

We only stayed for one night but definitely will be rebooking for longer!! I wasn’t expecting so many horses, we got lots of horse cuddles and pats in, is such a quiet spot to camp too. Robert was super friendly and helpful, my partner and I loved it. Can definitely recommend if you love horses.

Bit of a mud pit. Left early as there was some bad weather coming. Probably ok when dry. Nobody there, lucky we met some other campers who knew where copilot site was I know people are busy but maybe a sign to point people in right direction if unable to meet.

Great place. especially if you don't mind some horses coming to say hi :-) A very quiet place (no highway noise). Robert was nice and friendly. A great place to pitch a tent for a night or two!

We had a great long weekend in the Gidgee Coals Paddock. Very private clean campsites. We didn't realise there were other campers there until we saw them leaving. Short drive to Woodford for anything we needed. The visit from the horses throughout the afternoons and morning made the place even more special. We will definately be back and bringing our family for another visit.

Beautiful little spot at the back of their property. Great views of the wetlands and paperbark groves. A couple of horses came trodding past but didn't pay us any heed. Rob was a great host, easy communication and even helped us out when needed. Close to town for a pub feed too!

Great spot, unfortunately due to very bad weather it was wet as. Robert did contact us before our arrival to give us fair warning but we came anyway. Concidering the conditions we had a blast, it's a great property, the horses are beautiful and very friendly so that was definitely the highlight for my girls! Entry and exit for the spot we camped at could be a bit tough in very wet conditions but again there is alternative spots on the property to camp that would be way easier, which was offered by Robert on arrival. Overall brilliant weekend and lovely owners!

Can't beleive this time last week we were at this relaxing hipcamp just near Woodford. Robert and Lena's hospitality was exceptional because there was so much rain of late the ground was still very wet having only 4x2 wheeldrive they were very accommodating. We enjoyed our time watching all the riders over the weekend with their horses. Robert checked in every evening making sure if we needed anything no question was left unanswered. We had alot with all the types of horses, how they interact and some of there behaviours. His team was so friendly. We will differently back.

We spent 2 nights at co-pilot & in spite of the frequent showers, absolutely loved our time there & look forward to returning when it’s drier. Robert is a great host, there’s showers & toilets if you need them & the horses are super friendly. We had a couple dogs tied up on runners who also enjoyed their time at this quiet, tree lined & secluded site. Whilst there were others staying as well, we didn’t hear them & could barely see them from our site.
