Gorgeous spot right on a crystal clear river. Could easily have stayed longer if we had the time. Glen was a great host and full of really interesting information about the local wildlife. He is also extremely handy on the lawn mower! The place was impeccable. Thanks Glen

Great place with well maintained flat sites to set up. Beautiful clear water to swim and a fire pit to sit around at night. Glen was welcoming and had a chat to us about the area.

We loved our stay at The River Camp. So harmed to leave the relaxing sanctuary Glenn has created. Kids spent most of their waking hours on the creek and on the swing. Plus we had the whole camp to ourselves!
Glenn was a fantastic host. He made sure we had everything we needed, as well as some great local knowledge about the area.
Cannot fault this space, I hope we have an opportunity to stay again!

We LOVED this beautiful camping spot and we will definitely be going back. The area is very well maintained and looked after very well. We loved watching the dogs running down from the house to go flying into the river each afternoon. Glen was also very responsive to my questions prior to our arrival. If you plan on staying here, you won't be disappointed.

This campsite was absolutely perfect for a quick relaxing getaway. Nestled right beside the river, listening to the calming sound of the water flowing — it was incredibly peaceful. The spot was clean, private, and had plenty of space to spread out and unwind.

The River Ranch camping spot is great - we enjoyed the river, campfire and nature sounds around us. It’s a great spot to get outdoors, let the kids run and relax - we will be back for sure!

Awesome spot to stay. Was easy to find and we were met upon arrival and taken down to the camping area. Plenty of room to choose between for different set ups. Water was crystal clear, with plenty of birdlife. Would absolutely stay again!

Fantastic place, we will definitely be back. Easy to see why it has a 100% rating. Lush green grass, clear flowing water, and friendly hosts. Easy run to the supermarket to top up on groceries, but feels like a million miles away.

Sensational spot by the river. Fish biting (couple of good JPs), and plenty of privacy. Bonus that the pub was only a short drive away. If it’s available don’t look elsewhere, just book it.

Beautiful camping spot right on the river in a very scenic location surrounded by mountains. You have the area all to yourselves- one of the best Hipcamp we have stayed at. You need to be self contained but you are also very close to Gordonvale or even Cairns if needed. Our host Glen was great & his dad also dropped down for a chat. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place to camp on the creek. Private and perfect for a relaxing break. Also plenty to do - fishing, swimming, and we took our kayak for a paddle. Saw plenty of birds, butterflies and fish. Glen and family were so helpful and communication was great. There is a pub 3km up the road if you want a meal and a beer. We had Telstra phone coverage. We will definitely be back soon.

Loved the natural beauty of this camp! Such a physically brautiful & comfortable campsite with lush lawns right next to the gorgeous river!
Loved seeing Glen (plus the mini Shirley Temple) zoom around the property with the pups every afternoon before they stormed the river for a dip to cool down!
Can't say it was always tranquil or peaceful as often lots of other river users not far away, but it was beautiful, had great swimming, & even had a few critters visit on occasion! We very much appreciated Glen providing a fire pit right on the waters edge... was bliss sitting by the fire watching the river in the moonlight!
Would definitely go again! Thanks Glen for your hospitality & a fabulous camp, looking forward to our return!

We loved camping here! Only stayed for 1 night but wish we could’ve stayed 2+ nights. Large flat grassy area to pick the best camp spot to suit your camping setup. Close to the river with beautiful water

What an absolutely beautiful spot for camping! Glen and family were so welcoming. We lost service as we got closer so make sure you call him before you get to the range. March flies weren't too bad. We caught 5 fish! We live in Cairns and are already planing our next trip lol. There are 2 resident eels that kept us entertained. Absolutely stunning.

Such a beautiful spot and kind people!! This camp is perfect. It's spacious for you and friends, just about 30min from cairns city, right next to a river and doesn't require 4wd so anyone can enjoy. We really loved our stay here and meeting Glen and the dogs was a huge highlight, great people and a great spot. We will be coming back many times. Thank you and see you next time!

My family absolutely loved our 3 night stay at River Camp! Great communication and easy to find the property. On our arrival Charlie greeted us then hopped on the ATV with dogs in tow to lead us down to the campsite, brought down firewood that we had pre-paid for and a fire pit for us to use, and explained everything about the area including what wildlife to look out for etc. After work Glen and beautiful Ellie came down to say hello and have a yarn, offering more interesting information about the area. The site was immaculate and exactly as described in the listing, private with nice flat grassy areas to set up our camper trailer and swag overlooking the flowing creek. Such a great spot, close to home (Cairns) yet we felt like we were a million miles away. The only downside was the march flies which, as locals, we know are around at this time of the year, but we just headed to the creek to float in the water when they started and enjoyed the kayaks, tubes and swimming. We have done 4 camping trips to different locations in the last 6 months and this one definitely ranks #1 on the top of the list. Thank you Glen and family for making us feel so welcome, we will definitely back again soon!

Beautiful camping spot! The Glen was an absolute legend of a host and was so helpful and friendly really enjoyed meeting him and his family who came down to say hello. My partner & I had a nice short stay at this Camp site.
We woke so wildlife roaming around & star gazing during the night with many fireflies!!
Glen was flexible, understanding & kind about arrangements with the booking which is hard to find late at night (understandable) so that made the experience so kmuch better. Thank you
