The Croft provides a quiet place to sit relax and take in the fresh air. We With 49 species of birds and clear skies above at night to shine a light on how big the universe is. We are also home to endangered GREATER GLIDERS at The Croft! You will have a 5-acres to explore during your visit with a large flat campsite area with power and water if that is what you need. The onsite caravan – BETTY – is available for you if you need a bit more of a glamping holiday. Toilet is a composting toot. Self sufficient sites are available as well in another part of The Croft property near the dam and is accessed via the main property. Options for visitors are tailored for the horse rider however you don’t need a horse to visit and enjoy what The Croft has to offer. You can also spend time with the horses here with a variety of experiences available as extras and as part of package deals and our flag ship Back in the Saddle retreat option. There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night. The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay. All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area. THIS IS THE AUSSIE BUSH so please if you cant handle smells and snakes, try the HYATT in NOOSA!

Welcome to Blackbutt and the South Burnett Region and a private campground for you and your group. The Croft is a space for you to stay knowing that it will only ever be you staying at the one time. If you want to bring friends and come as a group, please let me know so I can adjust the platform to accommodate. This is to ensure that you have a peaceful and relaxing time without a heap of other people around. Prices for the campsite are PER CARAVAN of 2 people. There is however capacity for up to 4 caravans if you wish to have a holiday with friends or family. Known for the fantastic outdoor recreation opportunities such as the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail and the Bicentennial National Trail both are easily accessible from the property and the Blackbutt trails network 400m up the road. This is a basic outdoor camping experience in the rural residential suburb of Blackbutt North. The property in a rural residential suburb. If you want a big camping experience, the Blackbutt Showgrounds is the place for you. Electricity is provided and there is access to drinking water, a composting toilet, fridge and COLD shower in the shed. Self contained however is preferred with a convenient 'dump' site near the showgrounds in town for you to use on your way to your next destination. There is access to rubbish facilities. Breakfast hampers are also available to add to your booking. Horse riders are welcomed with yards and water provided. Please bring enough feed for them or drop into the Blackbutt Hardware on the way and support our local small businesses. If you bring your own horse and an experienced rider you can book a guided tour or find your way along to the Forestry or to the Bicentennial National Trail which is just a short ride away. Check out the extras if you need a guide for your trail rides. No loud groups please as this is adjacent to my home and peace and quiet is why I live here. Non smokers ONLY. Other than that please enjoy the space and time away in a very quiet part of the world. There are also lots of birds on the block including kingfishers, wrens, finches and lots more. There is a billabong style dam which horses are most welcome to play in. Dogs who are VERY friendly and willing to play with a border collie are most welcome.

This is for a powered sites adjacent to the horse yards - which is included in this price. Water is also included for both horse and human. Price is per person and horse as it includes horse yard. If you need a toilet please add this to the booking. The onsite toilet is in the shed close to the campsite and is only a composting toilet. A camp cold shower is also available for your use and provided if requested. Feel free to bring your own. The campsite is located in a 1 acre camp area. If there are no other campers feel free to allow your horse to roam in your camp area during the day. No smoking and no loud music as this is also my retreat space!

If you are more a horse person who likes a bed at night and air conditioning if summer - then BETTY the onsite caravan is for you. She has kitchen facilities, outdoor picnic table, tea coffee, composting toilet and camp shower facilities in the adjacent shed. Betty also has air conditioning. This booking also includes a horse yard for you which is 6 x 3 meters. Extras are available including lessons and obstacle course as well as some guided trail riding options.

Betty is your basic retro caravan with 2 single beds. (Kitchen facilities, outdoor picnic table, tea coffee, composting toilet and camp shower facilities in the adjacent shed. Betty also has air conditioning) a. Non horse guest - $42 b. Horse guest- includes one horse yard - $45 It is fully fitted out with crockery and glassware as well as all the things you need for a glass of wine looking out over your private bush setting. BYO linen is preferred as we are a bit short on water here again. Composting toilet is located adjacent to Betty in the shed. There is an awning and a contained fire pit. Bookings are flat rate per night. Sleeps 2 with single bed accommodation. Oh shes is air conditioned as well!. Great holiday option.

Back in the Saddle retreats are just that. If you have been out of the saddle or have lost confidence in riding this is for you! This price is per day! If you wish to have extra days, I will include additional lesson time. Reconnecting with the crazy horse girl you were and still are and gain that confidence back you once had while also relaxing and grounding yourself in nature and peaceful surrounds. Accommodation is Glamping Onsite Caravan Accommodation THIS is with a Horse Trax Oz Horse hire and lessons as follows: Horse time: 3 hours one on one sessions over the 24 hours of your stay. 1 hour – horse health, care and connection. 1 hour – led obstacles and groundwork exercises. 1 hour – ridden obstacles and trail ride onsite lesson. You also can spend one on one time with Horse Trax Oz horses during your stay as they are most happy to hang out with you in the open campsite area. Your time: Use this time to regenerate in the onsite caravan glamping accommodation. This includes the Breakfast Basics and Campfire Starter kit. Every guest also receives a complimentary sketch book and outdoor mats to spend in nature while you are here and a bird identification brochure.

It was a lovely area and campsite, very tranquil and great to recharge my batteries with my horse, Lucy. Her accommodation was great and safe, a good size yard and was aloud to go out in a paddock during the day. Melanie is very knowledgeable and generous with her time and we had a great trail rides. We will definitely return.

Betty Onsite Caravan - no horse
Staying at Melanie’s property was incredibly peaceful and private, there are incredible wildlife around and many birds creating a beautiful ambiance. Mel is very knowledgeable in regards to horses and even bought down a beautiful horse to meet! Everything you need has been thought through and i highly recommend a stay at Melanie’s to recharge and explore the beauty of the area.

Another fabulous experience at the Croft. Really loved the tranquility. Betty was amazingly comfortable to sleep in. Horses enjoyed the freedom with lovely peaceful rides. Will be back again for sure.

Melanie was the perfect host :-) she greeted us on our arrival to her camping site in Blackbutt. It’s a nice and quiet spot with power. Perfect if you just want some relaxing time away from home. We would definitely recommend Melanie to anyone else looking to book a spot in Blackbutt.

We had the place to ourselves - our little campervan surrounded by the bush and birdlife. No sight of the resident python - perhaps the full moon kept 'her' to the shadows.

Great spot to camp with your horse!

For anyone wanting to get away with their horse for a few nights camping, this is the perfect place to stay, especially as it is so close to the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Melanie provided a really safe and secure yard for my horse (there are two in total) and allowed me to graze him in one of her secure paddocks for a change of scene. My husband and I had one of the powered sites with our caravan directly next to the yard which was perfect. Melanie is very accommodating and helpful, close by if you need her but you have your own space as well. We will definitely go back!

We had the best time. The perfect place to rewind and check out. No reception for 4 days was great. Mel was a great host and even lent us a bird book so that we could look up the type of Kookaburras that came to visit! The camp area was level and fully grassed so no muddy puddles after the rain storm! I would advise taking an extra blanket as it gets chilly overnight but the view of the milkway on a clear night was beautiful

Fantastic stay at The Croft. There was no one else staying there and we had it all to ourselves. Melanie was a wonderful host. Popped by to explain a few things and say hello. Talked about the wildlife on the property and on the way out even let me say hello to the horses by bringing them out to introduce me to them! She really gives the vibe of community spirit and had a fabulous personality. Betty the van was fabulous. Had everyrhing we needed and the air conditioning worked brilliantly. We will be back!!

Absolutely amazing spot. Melanie is super nice and friendly to us. We planned to take our own caravan there but for some towing issues, that couldn’t happen, but we still stayed there as there actually is a caravan named Betty there! Very quiet and secluded. We also did some courses with Melanie on intro to horses and it was amazing, she is so passionate about and caring for the horses. We would not hesitate to come back here one day!

Stayed two nights in Melanie's caravan "Old Betty". It was better than I anticipated and had all I needed for my stay. Lovely property away from it all with no internet access so I loved the break. Also went on a couple of trail rides while I was there which was thoroughly enjoyable. Will visit again and happy to recommend.

I loved the peace and quiet. Our horses enjoyed the night in the yards and an explore of 2 acres. Easy parking for camping, with electric and water. Great trail rides

If it is peace and quiet you want, then I recommend The Croft. We were the only campers there which made our stay even better. Dogs loved it.

My Mum and I stayed with our two horses to explore the local trails. The horse yards were big and provided plenty of room for our boys. Water trough already set up with water access which made it that much easier. Mel was a fantastic host and really friendly and welcoming. Beautiful quiet and private camping right next to the horses. We rode both the BVRT and BNT which was fun! We will definitely come again for a horsey getaway! Loved it, thanks for having us Mel 😊

The camping site was beautiful. It was peaceful as there were no other fellow campers. It was raining but there was a shaded area where we could cook when it was raining. Melanie put out some kindling for us for the fire which was really kind of her.

We stayed in the caravan "Betty" and found it to be clean and well equipped. Melanie is a great host, very knowledgeable about horses and the area. The camping area is very well kept and clean. The sounds of the surrounding bush are relaxing/calming both morning and night.

Absolutely loved our stay at The Croft. It’s such a beautiful spot. We took two horses and was perfect for them with the yards and fenced area to have a pick. Trails were absolutely brilliant and Melanie a fantastic and very helpful host. The compost toilet and pump shower were excellent - we heated the water in a bucket in the sun first. Would recommend for anyone travelling with horses - or without.

We were really looking forward to our stay at The Croft. Travelling with two ponies (myself and my daughter) and two mountain bikes (my husband and son), The Croft exceeded our expectations! Beautifully kept camping area, fantastic compost toilet - well worth the extra spend - power, a pump shower (just heated our water up in the sun and away we went!), awesome yards for our two ponies, guided trails, brilliant advice on where to ride the ponies and mountain bikes from Melanie - also great comms in the lead up to our stay. The stars were beautiful at night, felt so far away from the hustle and bustle - plus the sound of the wildlife was spectacular! Would highly recommend for those wanting to kick back and relax in a tranquil setting. Thank you for a memorable stay Melanie.

Fantastic place to get away for those that like space and privacy . Friendly host and a great location which is tidy and well looked after . Powered sites , there is a compost toilet , sink and bucket shower plus the use of a fridge . I stayed 6 nights with 1 horse , good sized yards and access to water and pick for the horse . Great trails and only a 5 min drive to town . Can’t wait to go back again , can highly recommend this place for those travelling with horses .
