The Block is a wonderful Hipcamp just outside Townsville on the south side. Depending on your time of year it may be a little on the dry side or lush and green. No matter when it is, it’s absolutely stunning with the gums and the camp setup. Amazingly there’s a dump point too. We will be making this one a regular stop when we’re travelling.

Lovely place close to Townsville, very spacious! The camp kitchen is really cool with all the games and things, great new shower and even dump point.
Stayed there while attending an event at the stadium in town, only took 20 mins to get there!
Would definitely stay again!

Great spot, lots of choices of sites, shaded or sunny, whichever suits you. Firewood only $10.
Very easy to get to and not that far out of Townsville.
Bonus, there is a dump point, easy access

What an awesome campground away from everyone peace and quiet huge sites great little camp kitchen and a beautiful cold shower lovely fire pits and will definitely stay again. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommended. Thanks again Janet and David.

This is a great camp. David met us at the gate as we arrived and was very friendly. A lot of space to spread out and good space between sites. Close to town but nice and safe. Highly recommend

What a wonderful camp. So much room and David and Janet were so helpful. Even though it's dry, the camps were fantastic. Camp kitchen area had games and chairs. Highly recommended staying here. Only 30 mins to Townsville.

We found The Block easy to find.
The thing we liked the most was how generous the sites were. No-one was camped right next to you. We love that you can drive around and pick the spot that best suits your needs.
There is a communal camp kitchen, dump point and cold shower which not a lot of places offer. David brought our wood down and introduced himself. Had a great chat with him telling us their vision for down the track.
Wildlife...wallabies or kangaroos...not sure were out every morning and night. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a great spot.
Janet and David came around again the night before we were ti leave and presented us with a home made loaf of bread which was lovely of them.
10/10 for this camp.

It’s Great spot to stay for a couple of days if you want to go to Townsville spaces sites and fire pits. A handy camp kitchen and cold shower, but in North Queensland how cold can it be.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Block. Janet and David were so lovely and we could have spent a lot of time talking to them, such nice people and so helpful. Our kids loved it here, lots of room to move around and play. The Block is easy to get to, spacious, quiet, has a dump point, fire pits are perfectly situated along side the sites and it close to Townsville. It only took 25 minutes or less to get everywhere we needed to. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Farm Stay with Amazing H

The Block
I had an amazing stay at this farm campsite! The sites are surrounded by beautiful nature, and I loved seeing so many wallabies around the grounds. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to make sure their guests felt at home. I lost my motorcycle key in the grass, and they didn’t just help me search but even sent it to a local post office so I could get it back. That kind of kindness and effort is rare.
In every way, I would highly recommend this place, peaceful, scenic, and run by genuinely caring people.

Loved the peacefulness. First time for a bush shower. It may have been cold but it was great.
The only thing I would suggest is a bin for rubbish.
Other than that o would stay again.

The Block was a lovely camp, 20 mins from Townsville. Spacious sites, each with a firepit and solar light. Good camp kitchen and firewood for $10 a crate. Plenty of space. Kangaroos, wallabies and birds. Night sky was amazing.

Very well organised camping spots, l loved the raked up area's that puts all the sticks and leaves around the tree's. They also have a dump spot on septic tank. Lots of shade or open space. Dave seems like a nice bloke, also 👍 some mosquitoes.

What a beautiful, peaceful place to stay. A shame we could only stay 1 night but we’ll definitely be back. Hosts are very accommodating and friendly. Honestly can’t wait to return and glad we actually live close enough that this can be a regular get away.

Very well kept property. Each campsite had plenty of room, distinguishing fire pits, ours had a table, mowed & clean site. Very peaceful with only 10 campsites spread out

Booked 1 night as a stop over on way to cairns but we loved the tranquility here so stay 2!
