What a great spot. So close to the spa pools, Atti waterfall, Dead horse creek and Edmond Kennedy National park. We are Townsville "locals" and had never been to these beautiful attractions. Lovely grassed camping areas, surrounded by bush. Hosts were very accommodating too!

Beautiful camp ground right near the creeks and spa pool of cardwell! Owners are super lovely and helpful, would absolutely recommend!

Decided we needed to get away.
Booked in at The Bonfire Base in Cardwell for Friday & Saturday night, gees this place doesn’t disappoint. The hosts met us and showed us to where we could camp. While we set up the camper they went off, got firewood and lit a campfire for us.
Our dog loved playing with their dogs all weekend, he was so tired he rushed offf to bed last night.
They are so close to the Cardwell Spa Pools, Dead Horse Creek & Attie Creek Falls.
Highly recommend The Bonfire Base.

Fantastic location, so close to the spa pool and only a short drive to Attie Ck Falls and Deadhorse Creek.
Rayce and Lori are wonderful people, with Lori supplying us with banana and avocado on arrival.
They have also put a lot of thought into outdoor toilet and shower setup.
A really enjoyable camp for us.

My daughter and I spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. On arrival we were greeted by Royce with friendly hospitality. After finding a spot to set up Royce and Laurie gave us a tour, showing us the facilities, introducing us to the other campers and telling us about the local swimming spots. My daughter helped Laurie collect firewood and start the bonfire before leaving us to set up camp. On the second day Laurie kindly gave all of the guests fresh bananas, avocados and limes from the banana farm where she works. My daughter absolutely loved playing with all of the dogs that were there, they kept her amused so I was able to have a bit of me time too. I would definitely recommend this property to people looking for a cheap yet very well maintained property with great facilities and super hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you Royce and Laurie!

We found this place on WikiCamps , if you come to the turn that the map says to turn, do it no signs. We were greeted by the sweetest girl (the owner) who showed us to the camp area which they have build a small kitchen area hot shower long drop toilet, it’s very new and still all in the making, our dogs where aloud to run free , honestly the couple are beautiful young couple just having a go .

We had an excellent stay! Thank you guys! We felt so welcome and enjoyed every minute. So much hard work has been done by the hosts! Would definitely recommend, we will be back!

Absolutely amazing! Fantastic hosts! Great location just a few minutes from the Cardwell Spa pools and also just down from Dead Horse Creek as well. Great set up with the kitchenette, the shower and toilet. Host built a bonfire for all us guests to hang around and we all had a great chat. Amazing for the price. We will 100% be coming back at a later date to stay here again. Can't wait to see how it all looks as the upgrades happen over time. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone thinking of camping in Cardwell even for one night. Host even walked out and said goodbye to us as we were leaving and to every lot of guests as they left to continue on their journey. Thank you again for hosting us on our sporadic camping trip.

Bonfire base was excellent! The property was beautiful, peaceful the facilities were great and had everything we needed. Rayce and Laurie were so incredibly kind to us and the doggos were an added bonus. Will definitely be coming back again!!!

Massive thanks to Rayce and Loz for their awesome hospitality. Having hosts that are willing to engage and interact with guests is important but you guys went above and beyond to make us feel at home (off the grid). We can not thank you enough for taking time out if your busy schedules to show us more of your backyard and share your stories with us by the fire. It was nice to interact with like minded people and share our love of all things the outdoors. We loved our trip away and can't wait to come back again. Keep doing what you're doing cos your vision for this place is wicked!
