It was a beautiful and peaceful spot for a calming rest. Definitely would recommend. But also strongly suggest you take lots of repellent!! The midgies were pretty full on in the evenings and early morning until the breeze blew them all away!

Awesome spot to pull up the van and just relax for a few days. Great location, great facilities and lots of wildlife. Plenty of space to spread out. Highly recommend.

Fantastic camp. Showers and toilets were nice and clean. Nice big open grassy area, even with quote a few other campers, we weren't on top of each other. Awesome hosts. No fish but got a few muddies. Will definitely be back here again.

We loved our kid free weekend at riverside! The drive in was a bit of fun, grounds were very well maintained and the river was fantastic.
Toilets always clean and the showers were great temp.
Dog also had a blast.
All campers were considerate of others.
We did get stuck on the way out and Dan was more than happy to help however we managed to dig ourselves out eventually and didn’t need the tractor.
Will definitely be back for a weekend of fishing with the kids.

Great spot for the right time of year when midgies aren’t prevalent. Plenty of space for bush camping and owners are very friendly. 4WD access requires clearer instructions in particular the sand road, where this could bog many inexperienced or even experienced drivers especially if towing van. .

Plenty of space with nice level grass sites. Ideal for groups , families & anyone wanting to escape to the bush, yet so close to town if you need anything. Basic but clean amenities. Would highly recommend.

We understood the site required 4wd to access camp site but no other information was supplied by host as to the condition of the road in.
If we had been aware of how deep the sand was going to be we would have set vehicle up to get through. It is a very long drive in, first part very little gravel and would be a bog hole if wet. Second half has some very deep sandy sections and if towing a van, chances are you will become bogged.
I think the sign on the neighbouring property (farm) as you drive in says it all.
They ask you do not call them if you get bogged and give you the hosts phone number. This must be a common occurrence.
No doubt the camping site is very nice by the river but be aware the host does not give you any heads up or instructions on what to expect when driving in. Host was good enough to arrive after calling him, with a tractor which we did'nt require in the end.
We knew how to get ourselves out of the sand trap but others might not be equipped.

Amazing spot - host was very accommodating and helped me after hours with firewood (sorry!!!). The trip in through the sand tracks was a bonus, and wasn’t too hard at all.

We loved our stay here, it was easy to find and fun coming in on the sandy track. Very easy but would recommend 4WD vehicle. It was so quiet and peaceful, looked like it would be great for fishing and kayaking as well.

The 4WD track in was fine in our Sprinter van and we were welcomed at a large quiet grassed area with plenty of fire pits. Showers were $1 for 3min and did the trick. We enjoyed our two day stay.

Lovely spot! Nice and spacious between sites for more privacy, close to the Burrum river where we fished. Grounds are well kept, nice clean facilities and lovely host! We camped with our dog and had no issues. They have fire pit provided and you can choose from many camp spots, some with large solid wood picnic tables! Will stay again for sure!

Very well maintened, heaps of flat space, and shade, and Daniel was a welcoming host with heaps of extras like ice, bait, coins etc making it easy to camp. Yeah, a few midgeys about but only a couple of hours and spray took care of it

Brilliant Location, immaculate campsite and the grass was premium!!!
Great hosts, super helpful and had everything we needed… Firewood and Ice, bait etc
Wheelie bins were provided
Toilets/showers were a little walk, so plan ahead if you feel the urge 🤣🤣
Amazing time had, but if the Midges love you, you’ll get owned.. 3 out of our crew of 14 got absolutely nailed regardless of spray, everyone else, barely a bite…
Happily towed a Jayco Expanda 17.56 onto site in 4wd, bit of right pedal in a couple of spots but didn’t have to air down…
20min Drive into Burrum Heads on a bush track through national park
Small tinny or JetSki launch beside pontoon 2hrs either side of high tide no problem

Riverside was beautiful! The hosts were very responsive and we had a great time! The track in was no worries (triton, towing Jayco Hawk - no need to reduce tire pressure) and actually a bit of fun! Like other reviewers, the midges were absolutely brutal and my boys were truly eaten alive! I was also mildly disappointed with the private beach - it was really a private mangrove and not suitable for swimming - I may have misinterpreted the description though! Overall, it was a great stay, launched our boat, caught plenty of fish and muddies, it was quiet and clean and very spacious! I think I might be more of an ocean girl, rather than a river girl! Thanks for having us Dan!

Absolutely stunning spot by the river would highly recommend. Definitely will be back again. Most definitely take insect repellent midgees are very hungry

Lovely open clean space surrounded by big gums, fire and star gazing was great, would greatly benefit taking small tinny and a couple crab pots but Burrum was close and thought Toogoom was really nice with a good resturant right on the water. Ps shower was really good.

Very much 4wd access. Great spot, all campers tended to set up around the outside which left plenty of room for the kids and big kids to play games. So quiet and the stars are amazing. Plenty of bird life and the odd wallaby.
Midgies are there, but not a deal breaker for us, spray & mozzie coils did the trick, will be going back!!!!

Beautiful campgrounds. Well looked after with easy (although muddy) river access for tinnies and kayaks.
Bring lots of bug spray. The sandflies are aggressive!
