All to yourself
100% of recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp felt private.
Nestled far from the main road, over the hill and tucked away at the back of our property, you’ll find your campsite — a completely private 4WD-only escape at the meeting point of the Mary River and Sandy Creek. Set within our Riverdance property, this secluded site offers a true off-grid camping experience surrounded by nature. With only one campsite available, you can enjoy total privacy, unwind beside the handmade fire pit, and fall asleep to the sounds of frogs, birds, and native wildlife. While we live on the wider property, the campsite is privately positioned well away from the main residence, ensuring a peaceful and secluded stay. Just a few steps from your camp, you’ll have direct access to both the Mary River and Sandy Creek — perfect for exploring, swimming, relaxing by the water, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The site is shaded by established trees, providing a natural bush-camping atmosphere while still offering a cleared area for easy setup and vehicle access. Whether you’re travelling with a rooftop tent, swag, camper trailer, or self-contained 4WD setup, this is the ideal destination for those seeking a quiet and scenic retreat. Please note this is a remote-style camping experience suited to self-sufficient guests. There are currently no bathroom or shower facilities, so campers must bring everything they need and leave no trace. Access is via 4WD only, and conditions may vary depending on weather. Guests should assess weather conditions prior to arrival, as access may be affected after heavy rain. Please note - assume all fences are electric! If you’re looking for a private riverside escape, campfires under the stars, and the kind of peace only nature can offer, Riverside Camp at Riverdance delivers a memorable off-grid getaway. While the campsite feels worlds away, it is conveniently located approximately 20 minutes from both Kenilworth and Maleny, giving you easy access to local cafés, shops, and hinterland attractions. Riverdance also offers an on-site guesthouse, Riverdance at Conondale, for those interested in future stays that combine off-grid adventure with added comfort. The guesthouse is also positioned well away from the campsite, ensuring privacy for both experiences.Tucked away at the meeting point of the Mary River and Sandy Creek, this 4WD-only escape is pure seclusion. The fenced area around the camp site is roughly 5 acres but it is surrounded by approximately 130 acres of cattle grazing paddocks. With only one campsite available, you’ll have the entire space to yourself — no crowds, just open bushland, flowing water nearby, and the freedom to fully unwind. On occasion you may see myself or my husband and our dogs moving cattle around the property, or guests from the guesthouse (which is situated completely away from the camp area) exploring the property, however the campsite area is a no-go zone for guesthouse occupants - this area is just for you! Spend your days relaxing by the river or enjoying the simplicity of off-grid living. As the sun sets, gather around your private handmade fire pit and fall asleep to the sounds of the creek and native wildlife. Perfect for couples, friends, or small groups looking for a peaceful escape, this is an ideal spot to disconnect, recharge, and experience the beauty of the outdoors without interruption. 4WD access required ensures a true off-grid adventure and enhances the sense of seclusion that makes this site so special.
