Camping, caravan or camper trailers are also welcome to stay in this area for larger groups if needed.
The property backs onto the D'Aguilar National Park and is still heavily treed with some cleared areas for cattle grazing.
The cabin is open plan and sleeps 3, (queen and single). Listen to the silence. This is a quiet and serene environment with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and landscape. This could be your base camp while you discover other places within the Somerset region or just enjoy the peace and quiet on the property.
The property has many interesting native birds, animals and trees for you to discover. There is a walking track to Kluvers lookout, (within national park -steep) and other more gentle walks within the property where you can discover stands of large sub tropical rainforest, cabinet and eucalyptus trees.
Sit around the fire pit and contemplate the rich history of the indigenous people (Garumngar - part of the Jinibara group) and European settlers living and working (logging), within this area.
You will be off the grid, so you will have no mains power, phone or internet coverage during your stay at the Cattlemen's Cabin, however, a hike to the top of the property will give full coverage.

Tank water is available for your use, however, please use conservatively.
Wood fired heater inside for use on those cooler nights.
External barbecue (gas provided).
Basic kitchenware provided (plates, cups, cutlery etc).
Firewood bundles of split seasoned hardwood can be purchased from our stock through extras in bookings or cash onsite. Fire wood will be dropped to your site. Collection of kindling is allowed.

Friendly dogs that won't harm/chase wildlife or cattle are welcome. Dogs must be on a leash when walking on the property.
