ABOUT Looking for a quiet, no-frills camping experience? Pointro Campsite offers spacious sites on the scenic banks of Maroon Dam in Queensland. With basic amenities—toilets, hot showers, and firepits—Pointro is perfect for those who want to reconnect with nature. Enjoy fishing, hiking, water sports, or simply relax in the peaceful surroundings. Our bunkhouse sleeps up to 36, ideal for youth camps and group retreats. No distractions. No crowds. Just the essentials—and the beauty of the outdoors. BOOKINGS Please note you cannot book out the entire campground. WATER There is no potable water at any of the sites. Bring your own. BOATS Boat launch locations are available for campers at designated areas within the campsite and to comply with our SEQ Water licence: * No parking within 20 metres of the water. * Vehicles must stay on the designated road and cannot drive down to the boat ramp. * After launching, vehicles and trailers must be parked back up the hill within the Pointro boundary. * Marquees and similar structures must be at least 6 metres from the water’s edge. * Boats may be moored during the day but must be removed overnight. Breaches may result in fines from SEQ Water, which will be passed on to the responsible party. RULES - NO dogs allowed - NO travelling in the back of boats, trailers, jet skis being towed - NO travelling in the in the back of utes. - NO trail bikes. - NO Smoking. - NO excessive noise and no noise after 10pm. - NO parties. - Do Not Empty waste water on the Ground. - Max 1 Caravan per Site - Report any damage, Incidents or Hazards immediately We reserve the right to ask guests to leave the property without refund if you or they fail to follow the rules or provide false or misleading information in their booking. Peace and quiet at Pointro

Camping at Pointo (Lake Maroon) was perfect. It's a such quiet spot and the sites are a fair distance apart. Getting our small boat on to the lake was easy. Having a few kangaroos around was a bonus. I can imagine overseas visitors loving that aspect! We will definitely be back 😊

Such a beautiful location. We’ll definitely be back. The lake is gorgeous. Only downside was that the bathrooms weren’t regularly cleaned over a busy long weekend but very nice to have a toilet & shower there.

This was a gorgeous, private site offering peace and tranquility. Just what my hubby and I need after busy work lives … lovely dam views, lots of birdlife and the odd cheeky kangaroo coming past to say ‘Hi’! We will be back. The only small suggestion would be to make sure you take your own loo paper. Amenities were not serviced during our three day stay.

Great camping site with access to the Maroon lake. Working and we'll maintained facilities with toilets and showers. Also good communication with the hosts. Nothing to complain about, would recommend 🙂.

Had trouble finding the Barney View site as most signs were down, and we couldn’t get through to staff for help. Ended up staying elsewhere, though we did receive a refund (took about a week). Hopefully signage and communication improve, as the area itself looked lovely

We had an awesome weekend away and it was so quiet despite being school holidays. There are so many unique hikes nearby and the views are just amazing everyday. Would definitely recommend and like to come back.

Great location! We had the place to ourselves surrounded by kangaroos and wallabies. Amazing view overlooking Maroon Dam. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the country escape with water activities at your finger tips.

We loved the view over Maroon Dam and the wildlife at Pointro. This is a beautiful property with sites overlooking the dam. We chose the Secret Site which was tucked away and private. The facilities were clean. We ll be back

We stayed at the secret site, nicely tucked away from the other sites. The site was a decent size with a nice fire pit. We had an amazing 2 nights here. Would definitely book here again if coming to Maroon dam

The Pointro Camp grounds are absolutely stunning. The Wildlife- the Wedgetail Eagles, King Parrots, Wrens and Butcher Birds are easy to see. The Kangaroos and Pretty Faced Wallabies are abundant and just a pleasure to watch. There’s heaps of space in the site we stayed named Shady Tree Camp! Great firer pit, Amenities could do with a little bit of love BUT the Showers are awesome. All in all I am going back with all my Grandchildren so they can spend their time in this little piece of paradise and Enjoy!

Spent a relaxing weekend at this campsite and loved every minute. The lake view is stunning — perfect for sunrise coffee and evening campfires. Sites are clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Great spot for kayaking or just unwinding in nature. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

We loved camping here with our friends. We have 5 jet skis and hung out by the lake all day. The campsite was lovely, the owners were super friendly and the facilities were good. Outlets and nice hot showers. We had a nice big fire pit and wood bbq. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you

Beautiful camp site, lots of space, hot showers and working toilet. We could not fault anything at all!Tthe views of the lake are amazing, plenty spots to fish, launch boats etc, it’s essentially a campers dream! Zero service on mobile phones so take that in to note if you struggle being cut off. We will be back for sure, thanks so much :)

Overall great spot. Has no reception at first I was like mmm but then it was actually refreshing as we struggle to be present today as life is busy. Says there was no showerd but there was so another up and overall lot is huge so heaps fo privacy. Would recommend.

Good site (shady camp). Loved the tree. Very close to bathrooms (lights on all night). Directions are terrible. Look for the Pointro Sign to turn left off Burnett Creek Rd. Guys next to us smoked weed and hot boxer their car, we’re super loud and obnoxious. Everyone else quiet.
