Located on the Eastern foothills of Mt Stuart, Pete’s lookout consists of six separate campsites, each with a spectacular view. The panorama stretches from Cape Bowling Green, through to Castle Hill and Magnetic Island, all the way to Pallaranda and Many Peaks. Relax in the idealic open Eucalyptus forest as you enjoy the views. You will feel like you are 1000 miles away, but only have a short 25 minute drive from Townsville to get here.

Lower campsite (Ridgeline)
Top of the town
Amazing view. Defo only 4x4 up the track. We were the only people in the camp which was fantastic. Only downside is the noise from the industrial areas below was significant but we stayed on a week night so we are guessing it would be less noise over the weekend if they are shut. We would use again if we are coming through Townsville.

Sarah's View
We stayed at lower camp & the view was spectacular. It is the biggest with cleared views that u can see 180 degrees for miles & miles. So pretty at night with the city lights of Townsville. The first part up the hill is the steepest. We towed a light weight campervan (ultimate) in 4cylinda 4x4 Amarok & we made it up with just one part where our wheels were spinning but apart from that no problem after that. We got lost trying to find Sarah’s view as the signage was face down on the dirt ( we erected it up the next day) but we’re glad we rang Ben (very helpul, kind & polite) who said we could at lower camp as it was t booked. we walked to find the other spots & lower camp is far the better one. U do hear the heavy industry down below all night but that’s a little downfall to the views u get.

Hannah's Hilltop (Upper campsite)
There was no way we could make it up the slope after it had rained. Even with our landcruiser.

Hannah's Hilltop (Upper campsite)
Had an uncomplicated last minute booking. Wanted to go up to the hill but underestimated the way up although we have 4WD. After a quick chat with Benjamin we could stayed at Joys Nook instead. We saw some wallabies and other wild animals who shared the night with us. Road was hearable but didn't bothered us so much. In return we had a wonderful sunrise to watch out of our rooftop tent.

Benjamins land ( Hannah’s Hilltop)
We loved it at Hannah’s Hilltop! Very steep and rocky hill incline up to the top ( need a vehicle with good ground clearance ) , blessed that Craig is a good 4 wheel driver! We made sure we were there before sunset to see the amazing view towards the ocean, magnetic island and the city. Once we set our fire up and relaxed there was a Beautiful view of the sunset and the sunrise was spectacular in the morning ..quiet and relaxing place for a little get away with toilets close enough to walk to and just minutes from home (Townsville ). Thank you for having us. Much appreciated Craig and Nola xx
