Experience the quiet serenity of Midge Point. Midge Point is situated in Repulse Bay which is at the southern end of the Whitsunday Passage. There is 1 island group within Repulse Bay - the Repulse Islands & 2 other islands - Midge Island & Gould Island plus a multitude of estuary creeks and rivers. All are accessible by tinny from Midge Point. Our camp/caravan site is level with shaded areas and water available. It is a 2-minute walk to the water. Pets are welcome. There is plenty of firewood and a brazier on site for evening campfires and cooking. Midge Point has a small shopping centre, post office and tavern bistro. Beautiful beaches with some of the best fishing and crabbing in the region. Keen anglers now have the availability of the newly constructed boat ramp, off Jimmy Rocks Road. All are only 5 minutes down the road. Airlie Beach is only 45 minutes away, with access to the islands and reef. The airport is only 20 minutes away and a further 5 minutes to Proserpine.Experience the quiet serenity of Midge Point. Once the power was sorted it was great. The site was neatly mowed. It was quiet and peaceful.just what we were looking for.

Midge Point Waters Camping
Very little shade. Advised 3 days prior no power available. it was suggested we bring our own long leads to get power from their shouse which is very close.( I felt as the hosts that was their responsibility to provide a solution not ours) which they did after my suggestion to Sue, however we were unable to access power till after 6pm that first night. This made the first day extremely uncomfortable for our cancer patient. Had another van arrive suring our stay and they were camped no more than 5 paces from our 2 vans but brief on hipcamp says sites are dispersed.(they had no access to power, English folk in the middle of summer in North queensland.) At a guess due to my interaction with Sue regarding power prior to our arrival she came no where near us during our 4 night stay. Sean pleasant and hospitable. Needs fine tuning.
