This property is located in the beautiful Somerset region of Queensland. The camping area is mowed and maintained for easy access for setting up the tent, parking an RV or just throwing a swag on the ground , with views to Somerset Dam. A purpose built fire pit next to a rustic entertaining area with uninterrupted views to the Lake. At night the bar lights up to add to the ambiance of the bar and fire pit area . Stay one night or a couple and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Red claw pots available to use in Somerset Dam via access from the property. Plenty of animals, domestic and wild. The property is a working cattle station with livestock grazing in the adjoining paddocks. Wildlife ie: deer, koala's, kangaroos , possums and a multitude of bird life. For those travelling in large groups, please contact us to discuss your requirements. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and ensure that your camping experience is unforgettable.

Firepit Area, situated near the rustic entertaining area with a firepit overlooking the Lake (only the designated firepit is to be used in this area) guests will have the area to themselves but please note there may be another group visible at the grasses area. Guest will have access to communal toilet and shower. There are no hook ups at this site, guests will need to take rubbish with them and leave no trace. Speed limit on the incoming road is 10klms, please adhere to the speed limit. Any person wishing to have groups bigger than 6 persons, please contact owner to discuss options.

Open Grassy Space campsite is a semi flat open area , cleared and mowed perfect for tents or RV's . Guest will enjoy an un-interrupted spectacular view to Somerset Lake. There may be another group visible 500 feet away near the Firepit campsite. There is a designated fire pit that is be used at this site. There is a walking trail through the cattle paddock so you can walk to the lake. Guest will have access to communal toilet and shower. There are no hook ups at this site , guests will need to take rubbish with them and leave no trace. Speed limit on the incoming road is 10klms, please adhere to the speed limit. We loved the site Amazing stay! Loved the lake view, the lights around the campsite made it look stunning at night, and the fire pit was perfect for chilling out. Highly recommend!

Lakeview Is everything we thought it would be and more . The camp kitchen house is amazing and just bring your camp stove and you are set . The views over the dam are sensational. Plenty of room to set up and we took the whole camp and with 11 ladies each with tents and campers we had plenty of room to spread out. Recommend taking your kayak or paddle board and heading out early in the morning to explore the dam. Take some bait and try your luck with red claw using the pots onsite . We loved every minute of our stay and will be back

It was a very quiet and relaxing spot for a mid week over night trip. The view of the lake made the perfect scenery. The bathroom facility was very convenient and tidy.

We had the open grassy spot next to the shipping containers which was perfect for the wind and the view. The grass was lovely and the fire pit in a good spot. The site is not flat so need leveling ramps etc.

Land was clean and spacious with beautiful views Walk to the Dam was well cleared and safe Was great to have toilet and shower on site Only thing was the one dog owner was not comfortable that came had to be on a lead as we were told there was bait on the property Perhaps maybe not advertise a ‘dog friendly’ BBQ hut and lights were amazing I would go again as we don’t have a dog

Nice spot, easy to get to, great views, nice hot showers with clean amenities. The fridge was super handy. We all had a great time (kids & dogs included) :)

Very enjoyable weekend and a great location. Excellent amenities. It is far enough away from the crowds but only 30mins to Esk. Would certainly consider revisiting at a future date.

The camp area was well maintained. The rustic shed provided under cover areas to relax, have a drink and prepare food. Great views down to the dam. The shower and toilet were very clean and close to the camp area. A shop about 15 minutes away sold the essentials. In all, we thoroughtly enjoyed it.

Amazing weekend! The campsite was nice and quiet, with clean bathroom and a lovely hot shower. The best part was the stunning view of the lake. We loved it and would highly recommend it.

Hosts were lovely. One of the boys showed up a night early and they accommodated him for the night. Couldn’t ask for a better view. Would love to return for another trip.

Amazing spot. Beautiful views of Lake Somerset. Facilities are next level, absolutely everything you need for camping and more. Great hosts, great communication. Will definitely be back.

Camping with all the ESSENTIALS
Firepit area with views to the lake
I loved the green grass, giant firepit and cool firecracker lights at night time. The undercover bar was perfect for family dinners, the showers are ACTUALLY HOT in winter and hosts were friendly but also provided privacy. Prime location with amazing views and firewood down the road for collection. Shall be returning!!

Pictures of this place do not do justice! Beautiful the views of the rolling hills, mountains, and the lake. Breathtaking! The Hipcamp itself is clean and well kept, quiet, private, and convenient (REAL toilet and hot shower!). Our host is lovely and friendly, responsive and helpful. We’re definitely going back here again!

Good campsite with plenty of space. Well maintained with very clean amenities. Much of campsite is on gentle slope. Bar area provides good shade and rain protection and plenty of seating. Caretaker residence is very close to campsite but doesn’t intrude.

Another amazing trip. Was so quiet. There is only 2 spots and amazing hot shower and toilet. Was breezy which is great. Nice and grassy as well. We love it here and will be back. Perfect if your looking for a real retreat. Great views. Dam access and amazing caretaker.

Lovely spot, friendly owner and caretaker. Good for groups and the amenities are lovely. Caretaker lives onsite at the campground so not strictly private but they are not intrusive

Nice scenic drive to the property that has beautiful views of the mountains and Somerset dam. Good for a restful break where you can watch the wildlife or take a short walk to the water. Firepit area and seating adds a nice ambience to the experience. Hot shower and flush toilets also appreciated. And it's dog friendly!

Great spot and lovely people but with the function area fridge compressor kicking in every hour it’s very hard to get a good nights sleep. Otherwise lovely spot.
