Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and nearby Mount Elliot. Enjoy the 70 Acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant birdlife.
Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru.
The 20-acre dam is low at the moment (August '26) and grass is dry. We are dependent on rain for filling the dam. OK for kayaking or SUP. Kayaks x3 on bank for public use. Plenty of weed for the birds!
On arrival, powered sites, please phone our on-site caretaker Dylan, and he can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group. Unpowered sites can choose anywhere suitable for them.
We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem.
Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray or coils, especially if camping by the lake.
Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker Dylan. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling.
Fire rings are available at the sites. Please leave them where they are as moving them is destroying the surrounding areas. Thankyou.

Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property.
There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river.
We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area.
All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken with you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

We have 24 spacious sites, a couple lakefront and others among trees or in the open. Lakefront spots can’t be guaranteed — sites are assigned based on group size and setup. If you’re camping with others, please message after booking so we can place you together. Please note we have 2 lakes only one is swimmable the other is weed infested. It’s impossible to keep up with changing environmental factors, photos don’t always represent current conditions.

Stonesthrow is a 106 acre rural property in the peaceful Illinbah Valley. Nestled between Beechmont and Canungra, we are about an hour (a stones throw) from the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Over time, the property has been used to farm goats, train racing camels and spell racehorses and is now a family hobby farm. We currently have three dogs, cows, horses and goats. We have goat food for purchase on site. 🐐
The Stonesthrow Bush Camping lower sites are close to the beautiful shallow creek that meanders its way through the property. These sites have access to facilities - toilets, a powered shed, kettle, fridge and a sink. Most of these sites are suitable for 2WDs and some sites are accessible to caravans.
The Stonesthrow Elevated sites are located higher up, with stunning views of the valley. These sites are only accessible by 4WD and require you to BYO sealed, chemical camping TOILET and ensuite tent which we sight on arrival before allowing guests access to the track. Check-in must be during daylight hours to enable safe access. Off-road camper trailers can access these sites however NO caravans.
🐾 Friendly dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead when in close proximity to the cottage and other campers.
Please note, the availability of certain sites is weather-dependent.
👣 Exploration of the property is by FOOT or bicycle only. 🚲 Vehicles are NOT permitted to drive around the property except when travelling to and from designated campsite.

Due to new council regulations, we can no longer camp directly near the creek edges as we did before. Our campsites have now been relocated to higher ground, offering beautiful views of the creek. The creek entrances are accessible within 50 to 300 meters, depending on the path you choose.
Unplug and unwind at our 22 acre camping paradise nestled amongst the rolling green hills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Listen to the babbling water sounds of Scrubby Creek and the Mary River that meandering through the perimeter of the property for over 1 kilometer. Stroll through our mini rainforest, paddle in the creek or have a dip in one of the many rock pools. We will even let you build as many rock towers as you like! Throw an inner tube in the creek and float around while the kids laugh and play all day long. Let the kids dig holes or fossick for the perfect skimming rocks, ride bikes or play endless games on the beautiful landscaped grass. Plenty of trees to put up that hammock or soak in the creek with views overlooking the wilderness. Sit back and gaze at the starlit skies while the kids roast yet another marshmallow on the campfire. Snuggle up during winter and cool down around the rainforest in summer. Abundant wildlife, lots of kangaroos and wallabies, koalas and beautiful birds everywhere.
Please be aware that weekends are family times and do get busy with extra people. During the week it is very quiet and you could have the whole place to yourself. Sites are allocated on weekends based on numbers, if you are in caravans or tents and if you are camping with children.
We have 12 large grassy sites nestled amongst trees located at the higher part of our property. Each site is large and can allow group bookings. Loads of space for tents, camper trailers, caravans or motorhomes. The camping sites are close together however there is loads of areas to set up along the creek during the day.

Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting.

We can also take you horse riding around the farm for a couple of hours or to the local winery if you prefer a longer ride. We cater for all levels of riding.
We have many panoramic campsites for you to choose from. These are suited to anyone with the swag, tent, camper, caravan, or motorhome. You must be self-sufficient, with your own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste when you go.
For those who prefer the comforts of home we have a bunkhouse which sleeps 10 and has electricity, water, flush toilet, shower, stove, microwave and TV.

Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland.
We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy.
Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. Our campground is 2 wheel drive accessible and we have firewood & ice for sale. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided.
We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions (pls note we have a 9pm noise down curfew. We are not asking you to stop enjoying yourself, just have respect for other campers). Please contact us prior to your event to discuss availability.
Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property.
Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own fully enclosed off the ground fire bin. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed.
Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water.
During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out.
Things to do and see:
The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals, take aways available and friendly country hospitality.
Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. It also has a coffee shop, restaurant and walking tracks.
Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month.
All sites are unpowered. Generators are welcome between 7am and 9pm.

Had the best weekend camping at Creek and Antique. Heaps of space to set up, lovely creek to swim in, bikes and kayaks to use there too which was a massive bonus! Super interesting to look at all the antiques there.
Will definitely be back!
Took the car up to the lookout too which was beautiful and well worth the short drive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at Bares Hideaway. Friendly and accommodating hosts. Directions easy to follow. Well maintained sites and amenities, flushing toilets and hot showers scattered throughout the camp ground. Wood delivered every afternoon if needed. Loved the daily visits from the goats and sheep, not intrusive, they had a graze and then moved on. Will definitely be back!

Pull up (plenty of grassy spots); set up (above ground fire); walk next door to the great food, drinks and live music. Easy, laid-back and relaxing. Open spaces for large groups to camp.

Bushy & Emma's Bushywood did not disappoint with both host's extremely helpful on all aspects of our stay, the spot for our 10m caravan right next to the dam was perfect with our own personal fire pit, which our fur babies loved lying around keeping warm, a short walk to the emaculate toilets and shower block with extra porta-loo toilets around the property as well, we couldn't believe how peaceful it was with campsites spread out quite significantly & being also so close to Woodford maybe 5-10mins for any restocking of your camping needs, the dam would be perfect for young families in summer with Kayaks (supplied) swimming and a slippery slide into the dam. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had such a lovely stay at Coominya Farm Stay! 🌿 The property is absolutely beautiful, so peaceful and quiet, and everything was lovely and clean. The sunsets were stunning and made the perfect end to each day. Such a relaxing spot to unwind and enjoy the countryside. We had such a lovely stay here over the weekend. The property itself is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, green and surrounded by trees, with a gorgeous little creek running alongside the lower camping area.
One of the things I loved most was that there aren’t a huge number of sites in the lower campground, so everyone is nicely spread out and you don’t feel like you’re camping on top of each other. We had plenty of room for our camper, the kids’ swags and our fire area, and it still felt really private and relaxed.
Richard and Miranda were both incredibly friendly and approachable hosts. Miranda was absolutely gorgeous with my youngest, who happily spent hours playing around the property, including on the trampoline and playground. There was plenty for the kids to explore and do, which made it a great spot for a family camping weekend.
There is a composting toilet available but no showers, so just something to be aware of when planning your stay. Firewood is also available to purchase onsite which was really convenient.
There are both lower and higher camping areas. We stayed in the lower area because of our vehicle, but those with a more capable 4WD can access the higher camping area as well.
It’s also incredibly convenient from the Gold Coast and very easy to find. It felt like we’d escaped into the bush without having to spend hours travelling to get there.
Such a beautiful, relaxed little camping spot with genuinely lovely hosts. We would definitely come back.
