We recently had 2 nights camped at High Country. Good set up with decent toilet and shower facilities. Directions were easy to follow and accurate. We didn't get to meet the Host (Kurt) during our stay.

This place was one of those special gems you hope stays this beautiful.
We took our jayco swan set up with power and they had toilets and showers very clean
Owner is easy going and great to deal with
We will be back soon hopefully unfortunately we got rain the whole time we stayed but it was still an amazing place to be. We had kids and small dog but everyone behaved and peaceful

The camp at High Country was a nice spot. Be aware you need to traverse a mountain to get there!! Unfortunately the showers and toilets had no water pumping to them. We did let the owner know. We are self contained so it was not a problem for us. So the cows and horses were very curious which was lovely!

The location was beautiful. Spacious with several options for unpowered sites. The facilities were great and although there was an issue with water the host responded quickly and fixed it.
We were lucky enough to secure a spot right next to the creek and were greeted to the sight of platypuses playing in the morning and beautiful Azure kingfishers fishing the creek.

We were really looking forward to our stay – the drive to the site was absolutely beautiful, and camping by the creek was such a peaceful experience.
However, we were disappointed to find that the facilities advertised weren't usable. The toilets and showers had no running water and hadn't been cleaned – the toilets were unfortunately blocked. It would have been helpful to know this in advance so we could prepare better.
This site has great potential if the amenities are brought up to standard. With a little maintenance and clear communication, it could be a much more enjoyable stay.

High Country Camping Comforts

This is a great camp-site, with lots of flat shaded areas, if wanted and areas to feed the solar panels. Access is fairly easy, with some well maintained dirt roads and the amenities ( toilets and showers) were very clean and user friendly.
There is a lower camping area beside the creek, but it wasn't accessible after the rain we'd had, so we went up top.

My partner, our 2 dogs and I loved our nights stay! It was a lovely location to relax. We have such a tranquil night, a few drinks and snacks by the fire and fell asleep to the sounds of the creek running. It’s exactly what we wanted for the night, no reception and no interruptions just a relaxing night.

Such a beautiful, peaceful spot. Clean amenities. Our toddler loved exploring the open space and watching the cows wander by. The fresh air, quiet surroundings, and lush scenery made it a perfect escape. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely stunning place to get away and camp. the scenes were unreal and maintained so nicely ! i loved visiting the cows and horses and being in the forest it was such a lovely spot definitely recommend to solo travels, couples with a pet or even family with a pet!!

The most magical spot, so quiet and peaceful. So nice and cool, had the best sleep. Waking up to the birds chirping and to the cows and horses grazing beside us. it was so surreal, we will definitely be returning

Overall great to spend time with family but very muddy and we got bogged, also a dead cow upstream therefore unable to enjoy water. Toilets, showers and bins not emptied and over flowing. Would be absolutely amazing if not the amount of rain we have had this year

Beautiful spot next to the creek . Enjoyed going for a kayak and a paddle. Plenty of space between sites so not too crowded. Amenities were adequate. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating 😊

Great location. Grassy, flat, shady, quiet. Heaps of room. Not a lot of direct sun for solar but cheap powered sites removes that concern. Hot showers, flushing toilets. Far better than say The Diggings campground!! Creek is nice. Lots of birdlife.

Can’t wait to get back here, we braved the rain and stumbled upon this awesome property with a chilly but amazing creek to swim in and clean facilities we will definitely be back 10/10 !

I almost don't want to rate this place, as it was so lush and I want to keep it our little secret, but I am to honest, so all I can say is its a hidden gem, don't ruin it, we had a lovely stay only problem was we booked for just one nught by mistake and didnt have wifi to stay longer, otherwise it was amazing

Kurt's property is in our eyes one of the best we have stayed and we travel quite alot. We had the Powered site on the creek and the whole property to ourselves. It was raining and sitting by the creek watching platypus swimming up and down the creek and across the causeway was Nature at its absolute BEST.
Kurt has supplied a kayak to use on the river and not that we used the amenities as we have our own, but hot showers and toilets were provided and of a high standard.
We will definately be back and especially on those frosty Eungella mornings for amazing photos!
Well done Kurt ...You have so much potential on your property and Thank You for opening it up to Nature campers like ourselves.

Very beautiful and peaceful pet friendly spot in a lush tropical setting. We enjoyed our short stay and will likely be back. Amenities are great, with warm showers and clean toilets. We kayaked in the creek with our dog and overall would highly recommend!
