Our names are Chris and Christine. We recently moved to Gundiah Qld and acquired a beautiful piece of land (approx. 320 acres) with about 70 acres of picturesque camping located on the Mary River. Our property is located halfway between Gympie and Maryborough (approx. 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway) tucked away down a private road which is lovely and peaceful. We have some walking trails located on the Camp Grounds to take in the scenery, or for the more adventurous located behind the office are longer walking trails with spectacular views at the top. There is a bike track and playground with Mini Putt Putt to keep the kids amused! Currently an RC track in the making for the remote 4WD enthusiasts. Easy access to the Mary River if you would like a spot of fishing, swimming or kayaking. Keep your eye out for the platypus and Mary River Turtles. We also have fire pits available at most sites with plenty of free firewood to collect around the property. Your fury friends are more than welcome but for the safety of them and others must be on a lead at all times. We are located about 50 minutes from Gympie, an hour 15 minutes from Rainbow Beach and or Hervey Bay and 45 minutes from Maryborough. The town of Tiaro is only 15 minutes down the road which has a Foodworks, Pub, United Fuel and Cafe. Don't forget the local Gundy Pub is only 5 minutes down the road. Great atmosphere and meals "tell them we sent you". Gundy Getaway is the perfect place to get back to basics and enjoy the peace and serenity.

The Riverside Campsite is a flat grassy space located above the spectacular Mary River with some hidden spots dotted throughout the camp grounds. You will enjoy plenty of space to yourselves, but please note there may be other groups visible. Guests are encouraged to be self contained, although there is access to communal Porta-Loos with a hot shower located on the Campsite. Please note all rubbish/waste will need to be taken with you. There are no hookups or potable water at this campsite. Plenty of wildlife including cows, kangaroos, native birds or even catch a glimpse of platypus or the Mary River Turtles which is a short walk down to the Beautiful Mary River. Also plenty of fish for the avid Fisherperson. There is a bike track for the kids to ride on over at the Pastures Campgrounds, with a playground and mini Putt Putt. We also have an RC track in the making located near the playground. There are short walking trails located on the campgrounds to take in the scenery or for the more adventurous, longer walking trails are located behind the office opposite the campgrounds with some spectacular views at the top. Pitch your tent or set up your caravan on our camping grounds located @ The Riverside. There is plenty of space to camp with groups or find a more secluded spot to chill out.

Ripper spot! Fantastic Hosts! We loved our stay and will be back. Very peaceful and if you are towing a van it’s easily accessible and lots of flat ground!

We were met by one of the owners at the entrance who instantly had an annoyed attitude. we told him we have the riverside booking to which he replied "good luck, there's about 1000 people there". I don't understand how this can be acceptable when we prebooked the site in advance. the site its self had about 20+ vehicles camping there with us, definitely not a secluded or remote experience. Definitely wouldn't recommend, so many better places out there

Absolutely fantastic campground! Toilets and showers were clean, Chris made sure there was adequate water each day, he would come and catch up with us every day to check in and see if there was anything we needed. The grounds are well maintained. Stunning location. Even the cows were a delight with their beautiful little calf in tow 😍 We will 10000% be back! We just hope whoever purchases the property is equally as awesome. Thank you so much Chris and Christine for your hospitality!

Chris was a great host! He checked in with us shortly after arrival to ensure everything was to our needs, and regularly visited to check for any issues. He was also able to provide good information on the best fishing spots and areas around of interest. I will be back!!

We had an awesome time at Gundy Getaway! The hosts went above and beyond to help our group. The kids loved the playground area with mini golf and bike track. The amenities were cleaned regularly and the river was Amazing. Highly recommend.

Great camp, lots of space. Basic showers and toilets but does the job. The river is a bit of a walk from most of the camp spots but is a good spot to spend the day and the fishing is good. Camp hosts were really nice also

We had a great time during our stay! We camped on a long weekend yet we didn't feel crowded or cramped. The toilets and showers are well maintained and plenty around the grounds. The addition of the kids area with trampoline and putt putt was a win for the kids! Easy access down to the river and a beautiful spot for swimming. Unfortunately there was a fire ban, however there was still plenty to do to keep everyone entertained. Highly recommend this camp! Chris & Christine are wonderful and their place is beautiful. Thanks guys!

The camp sites were spacious with plenty trees for shade. Fishing was great with easy river access from the camp site. Unfortunately there was a fire ban during our visit so we'll have to return again to try the fire pit! Brilliant venue, will definitely be back with more friends and family!

We had an amazing time at Gundy Getaway. The facilities were immaculate and cleaned daily. Chris and Christine were super friendly and helpful during our stay. The river was so nice to swim in - great for kids/dogs and the property was very easy to find. We will be back!

We were lucky enough that we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Plenty to space for kids to ride bikes, play ball, fish and have camp fires.

This is an awesome spot on the Mary, plenty of room, quiet and the river on your doorstep! Chris is great for a chat on his rounds each day, clean loos spotted around the place as well a shower. I'll definitely be back!

Did not realise there was a large campground near facilities across the small valley which has a steep descent and ascent. Would have preferred that location as had to drive to facilities which were located there. Lots of wood on property to cut for firewood and clean facilities. Bring your own toilet as only limited toilets. Lovely green grass and cows pass through each day which adds interest.
