Daintree - The Last Stop ;
Living in the Rainforest
We had a fantastic time staying at the Last Stop. This is truly a one of a kind experience that you can't find very easily. The location is nestled in the front yard of a nicely landscaped lawn in the middle of a beautiful rainforest. It is totally private but close enough to the hosts to ask questions. Hosts Jen and Jaime were very nice and helpful. There were even cookies waiting for us on arrival. You can tell from the pictures that the cabin is a bit rustic, put together from recycled materials, but it really had everything you needed, including electricity, hot water for showers, and even WiFi during the day and evening. Because there is no mains electricity in the Daintree, we had to rely on a battery recharged with solar backed up by a generator. We had issues with the battery not holding enough charge and Jaime replaced it the next day with a more powerful one so we didn't have to run the generator as long. Our hosts also provided free ferry passes for Daintree river crossing. All in all, a great place to stay!
