Centrally located on Fraser Island’s east coast, Cathedrals on Fraser is the perfect destination for a relaxing getaway or an action-packed holiday. From the campground, you’re only a short walk to the beach with some of the Island’s best fishing spots and picturesque coloured sand dunes. You’re also just a short drive from the Island’s most popular tourist attractions including Eli Creek, the Maheno shipwreck, and Champagne Pools. Our campground is fully dingo-fenced, so you can relax and enjoy a true Fraser Island camping experience knowing the kids are safe. Unlike beach camping, you can enjoy a campfire in our designated fire rings. You will need a 4WD to get to Cathedrals on Fraser. If you don’t have one, you can always hire from Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. We offer a wide variety of on-site services and facilities including a well-stocked general store with hot food and freshly ground coffee, a fuel station, hot showers, laundry facilities, and much more! We also offer a variety of accommodation options to suit any budget, including cabins, permanent tents, and powered or unpowered campsites.

Permanently erected two-room canvas tents. These tents have either 1x double and 2x single mattresses, 2x double mattresses, or 4x single mattresses. Please message us when booking which option you require. Linen is available for an additional fee, please message us if required. Otherwise BYO. Linen package includes pillows, sheets, blankets and bath towels. Tents have an internal light and an external power point (limited to 4 amps). This is sufficient to operate your own fridge/freezer, fan, battery charger etc. It is not capable of operating kettles or toasters (these are provided in our camp kitchens), air conditioners, heaters, etc. Guests are afforded access to camp amenities including FREE HOT SHOWERS, laundry facilities and camp kitchens fully equipped with BBQ's, gas cooktops, fridges, freezers, microwaves, kettles and toasters. Guests must bring their own cookware and eating utensils. No food is to be stored in tents. Guests should bring sealed food boxes to store in their vehicle or the camp kitchen. We loved our 4day stay at Cathedral camp site. Amenities were great and clean. Camp sites were great. We had a great time at camp site.

For me: the only place to stay on Fraser…the perfect mix of camping in the wilderness, but with comfy beds and proper showers. Well located too for all the best spots. Will only be staying here when I come to Fraser next time
