Bunya Red Farm is a 160 acre mixed farm in the South Burnett, with awesome 360 degree views looking out to the beautiful Bunya Mountains and over farmland. We have cattle; alpacas; grow capers, peanuts and other seasonal crops. The farm also enjoys a sky full of stars at night with the lights of Kingaroy and wind farm sparkling in the distance. Bunya Red Farm is 8 kms off the Bunya Highway, with the last few kilometres of gravel road accessible by 2WD, motorhomes or buses. TV and mobile reception is excellent. Pet friendly (see rules). Campers must have own amenities for their chosen site and leave no trace. Campfires permitted but check with hosts first regarding local fire bans before lighting a fire. 4WD required for some sites only if camping in the wet.

Pitch a tent or a swag out under the stars and enjoy the peaceful farm life. Guests taking up these sites have use of the communal shower and toilet block (hot and flushing!). There is also access to our camp kitchen and tables with plenty of spots to choose from. Our property offers great views and farm walks, we welcome you to bring your bike for quiet country road riding. You may join in with the farm chores, or chill out and just watch the world go by. Excellent mobile reception (if you need it).  Campfires are permitted in the communal fire pit provided. Check restrictions before lighting a fire. Relax by the fire side with your fellow campers and enjoy the star filled night sky. Pets are welcome but must be restrained by sun down. Please clean up after your pets. Children 13 and under stay free.

B School Yard - Self Contained only

Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Note: No toilet/shower facilities available for self sufficient campers. This site is accessible sites for all types of vehicles and is generally level. The site is on top of a hill looking out to the Bunya Mountains, with 360 degree views across agricultural land.  The property also features a few acres of mowed grass with an original one room school, basic camp kitchen, a couple of shady trees plus a few other buildings to tuck in beside when the wind blows.  There is also a basic sheltered fire pit to sit around for happy hour. Children 12 and under stay free.  Pets are welcome but must be restrained from dusk until dawn.

Quiet Spots - Somewhere on the Farm

As seen on channel 7's Creek to Coast! We have beautiful quiet spots where guests can park up for short or long periods on the farm. Some have shade, some don't. Grassy open areas to camp. During winter it can get quite cold, and the wind will blow, but the location is peaceful and away from it all. The sites offer great views and clear, star filled night skies. Guests must be totally self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. No fires without prior permission. Fire bans must be obeyed. Our property is in a regularly drought declared area, so we must be careful at all times. Long grass and wind can spread fires very easily and quickly.  For long stayers, there will be access to water and a dump point if needed. Mobile reception is excellent. Children 12 and under stay free.

There's level spots to park beside the caper paddock. Great views of the Bunya Mountains and surrounding farmland plus most of the 123 wind turbines in the distance. Approx 7klms off the Bunya Highway between Kumbia and Kingaroy. Some gravel roads, depending which way you navigate to get here (between 6klm of gravel the long way, 2klm the short way). Open paddock to park, no shade trees, no lines to stay within, just open space under the night sky. Must be self contained with own shower and toilet facilities. Quiet and can be left to your own company if you choose.

An open area on a ridge looking out towards the Bunya Mountains one way and out to Kingaroy the other. It has been mowed and is a gentle slope. It is quiet and away from the Schoolyard, but still within walking distance. Must be self sufficient with own shower, toilet, cooking facilities and water. Permission for fires in this area, as there is lots of long grass around the site.

Mandy and Alan were very welcoming. They greeted us on arrival, gave us the lay of the land and the rundown on the amenities. About 4ish, Alan came dosn and rounded up the 4 kids and whisked them off into the next yard to feed the alpacas. Unfortunately we got rained out and couldn't stay the planned two nights, but the kids had a ball mucking about in the rain and chasing the frogs about. The amenities are fantastic - best campground shower I've ever had. The kitchen area is well-configured and we found anything we hsd forgotten to pack was probably in there. I'm definitely keen to stay again, hopefully during some cooler and more predictable weather.

Bunya Red Farm was really fantastic! The caper farm tour was very interesting (and delicious) and feeding the alpacas was a highlight. The grounds were so picturesque with farmland views in all directions. We loved the star-filled night sky and serenity of the place. Mandy and Allen were incredible hosts. Would recommend a stay in a heartbeat.

We had the most wonderful experience at Bunya Red Farm! From the moment we arrived, Mandy and Alan made us feel completely at home. They’re warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about creating a peaceful, family-friendly space — truly excellent hosts. Our 6-year-old was in heaven climbing the big tree near the campsite — it quickly became the highlight of the trip! Alan’s farm tours were a great — informative, engaging, and an absolute laugh! His stories made the whole experience unforgettable! The amenities were fantastic: clean, thoughtfully maintained, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Whether you’re after a quiet retreat or a fun family adventure, Bunya Red Farm is a gem. We’ll definitely be back!

We had the best time at Bunya Red Farm! Mandy and Allan were so accommodating. The facilities are great with a huge camp kitchen and eating area and two clean bathrooms. The hosted walks Allan did each day were perfect and then getting to feed the alpaca’s was a highlight. We will be back for sure!!

The camp site had the most beautiful outlook, quiet and private. Our family had an amazing time. The little ones loved feeding the alpacas. The hosts were so kind and helpful. Also lived the fact we could purchase farm fresh capers and related products. Would certainly return. 🤩

If you are looking for peace and quiet, 360 views with welcoming hosts and a good hot shower camp here. Also got to taste their renowned capers, caperberries and an upgrade on Branston pickle. Cows were nursing, the alpacas were shy and the Guinea fowl were keeping an eye on everyone. Hopefully we get a chance to stay again sometime.

The farm tour is an absolute must, Mandy and Al are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The amenities are great, clean, well stocked and fantastic hot water showers. The camp sites are quiet and have great views with added bonus of lots of native birds and farm animals around.

I love this place, amazing views, beautiful property and very warm and inviting hosts. The amenities are clean and plentiful and you can tell that so much thought and care has been put into setting up this amazing location. I will definitely be going back to stay and would recommend you do too, you will not be disappointed.

We loved our stay, and so did our four legged adventurer. The caper tour was amazingly informative and very interesting, even the Alpacas were happy to be there and be fed by the new-comers! The sunset views are spectacular, but most of all, we loved our hosts. They truely are Aussie legends, caring, knowledgeable, and passionate, this shines through whilst having a yarn! Thanks again guys….

Absoloulty amazing Place. Mandy and Allan are very warm and welcoming people. Clean and just awesome. My Boys loved the space to kick the ball around. They want this to be our regular camp spot as they already miss Cocoa and Sherbert Highly highly recommend this place.

Bunya Red Farm is a perfectly located site between Kingaroy and Kumbia...very easy access off the highway. The hosts are very friendly and are keen to ensure your stay is a good one. Whether you need amenities or the seclusion of a self contained spot, there is a spot for you here. Highly recommended.

Mandy and Allan were great hosts and very generous with their time in showing us around the farm and making it a great experience for our little one. The camp kitchen is spacious, includes some powered appliances and provides shelter from wind/rain/sun if needed. We enjoyed meeting other campers there and the bookings are also managed to ensure everyone still has their own space. We're definitely keen to come back and see our new friends again, humans and animals alike.

We set up our caravan on the schoolhouse site on Mandy and Allan’s beautiful property. Apart from a very warm welcome we were spoiled with hot showers and toilets and use of a very well equipped camp kitchen. Allan gave us an informative tour of the various aspects of this working farm and we finished our time by feeding the alpacas. Stunning views, peace and quiet and marvellous hosts - what more could you want! We’ll be back!

Allan and Mandy were wonderful hosts Who went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. From eating peanuts off the land, feeding alpacas, learning all about the farm, and the beautiful scenery the weekend was really good. Great amenities. I’d recommend it to anyone

Excellent hosts! Mandy phoned us as she wondered if we were lost - we were 5 mins away. Beautiful farm environment. Great facilities - bathrooms and camp kitchen. The farm is on a gentle hill with great views. Alan provided a good chat and walk around the farm. Great for kids to see the peanut crop, sorghum and millet, capers and (would you believe it) a Duboisia (a native shrub) crop. (Look it up if it's not known to you.) The children present whilst we were there were able to feed Alpacas, much to their (children's AND alpacas') delight.

Mandy and Alan are great hosts, very laid back and always up for a chat. Our dogs loved having the freedom to run. We saw plenty of wild life including a family of Emus. Very clean facilities…… would highly recommend recommend a stay there. Some of the most amazing sunsets.

I understood why this place is 100% at over 100 reviews. They speak for themselves. Mandy and Allan were so accommodating and easy to talk to. Al met me upon arrival, showed me the best angle to park to avoid the AM sun, and then walked me over to meet the Alpacas. Beautiful open space on top of a hill with killer views of the stars. Big tree for evening shade. Communal firepit was big and amenities were great. Kitchen, shower, toilets, drinking water. Would 💯 stay again and worth the small drive to be out of the high trafficed area in a peaceful surrounding.

CMCA Deal - Park up for the Night
Mandy and Allan were wonderful hosts! The site was quiet, peaceful and beautiful, with amazing views onto surrounding fields, lots of space for our Kelpie cross 2yr old to zoom around and enjoy, also great to ride our bikes to follow the Guinea fowl, see the cattle & alpacas aswell. Learnt so much about capers and caperberries on the Sunday farm tour. Delicious tasting platter. We will definitely be back!!
