A quiet, green oasis of pure nature. No road noise, no people noise. Only stars and crickets. Love the rustic camp-fires and loo. Perfect.

I had a wonderful stay at Claire's property. Before my arrival, Claire provided detailed directions, which made it very easy to find the campsite.
One of the highlights of this site is its privacy. I had the entire campsite to myself, and because the property is located at the end of the road, there is virtually no passing traffic. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature.
The property features a beautiful pond that attracts a variety of birdlife, including bee-eaters and kingfishers. The surrounding forest is also rich in bird species, making it an excellent destination for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
I also booked an additional guided tour with Claire for an extra fee. We explored the property in a Kubota utility vehicle, and she showed me areas where native trees have been planted, habitats for sugar gliders, and several excellent birdwatching locations. She also introduced me to their native tree propagation area and an organic garden.
What impressed me most was the dedication to ecological education and conservation. The property supports a number of environmental projects designed to teach young people about the land, wildlife, and native flora. It is an inspiring place with a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
I highly recommend visiting this property, especially if you have an interest in biology, botany, ecology, or wildlife. Taking a tour with Claire is well worth it.

Had a great one night stay to test out the new rooftop tent which did well in some surprise mid dry season rain all evening. Beautiful peaceful location with an excellent fireplace and forest surrounds. Did the walk to the rainforest creek this morning but it's a bit late in the dry so not so much wildlife or water around. Mozzies were there in small numbers so manageable (I'm a mosquito magnet). Had a beautiful 3m+ carpet python visit us at night but unfortunately she was half an hour late for dinner. No service but that's the best part. Very helpful end thoughtful hosts.

Another enjoyable and peaceful stay at Birders Billabong this time for 3 nights in a ground tent.
Abundant bird life and we also saw the beautiful Ulysses butterfly.
The perfect camp site for us.
Definitely recommend.

Large mown park like area with lots of trees and fire pits. Very peaceful spot with lots of birds and butterflies. We stayed Friday and Saturday night and had the whole camp to ourselves. Need to be fully self contained. No mobile coverage in camp but got Telstra signal on the ridge. Host Claire is very helpful and sounds like they have an exciting conservation programme. Thanks for a great stay

This site is so well appointed. The care the owners show for their special piece of paradise is evident and they provide a ready to go campsite with absolute privacy. Easy access and so much space for family groups to camp together but have their own spaces. Excellent communication and clear directions. We will definitely visit again!

What an epic two nights had at Blue Gum Camp at Birders Billabong. My partner and I rolled out the swag and enjoyed JUST the sound of nature…. Not a car, machine or other person in sight… bliss! Firewood was conveniently supplied to the immaculate and gorgeous camp grounds with options on where to set up camp due to multiple established fireplaces.
The hosts came to greet us on arrival and ensured we had everything we needed before leaving us at peace and what a peaceful time we had.
The wildlife was amazing from the resident camp billby, to wallaby’s, water snakes, platypus, endless species of birds and even the odd huntsman in the drop loo… but he didn’t bother us.
The walking tracks were fantastic, although could possibly be marked out a little better (my partner is colourblind).
The lagoon was a lovely place to swim, although was a bit of a walk to get there each day… this would be my only downfall to this whole location and experience.
The hosts have done a phenomenal job in creating a gorgeous, private and secluded place for people to unplug and get back to nature… a true bush experience and we will definitely be back.

Birder's Billabong Camp
We loved Birder's Billabong Camp and hope to return one day. Claire was very quick to respond to our questions, and gave complete and accurate directions, so we knew exactly where to go and what to expect. We loved the private nature retreat. We had a beautiful, clear, dark, starry night. And we awoke in the morning to a wonderful chorus of lots of different birdsongs. We also explored the nature trail - perfect for an early morning walk. Thank you Claire for sharing your special place.

You, your family, your group, whichever it may be you get this place to yourself is what I found most attractive, it's spacious, private and calming. The variety of birdlife and fauna on show is a nice bonus.

Perfect peace and tranquillity amongst the cool trees and with the wallabies. Lovely to be able to make a fire. Firewood already chopped and stacked, but not all seasoned. We selected our logs carefully. Hosts are kind and very helpful. Lovely people. The only criticism would be that the spot was hard to locate. Ambiguous leads on the Web and no signage, no instructions. But we found it eventually, and will definitely keep in mind for future camping in that area. The loo-with-a-view was a bonus even though we were self-contained.

What a beautiful spot, plenty of room, shade and firewood, loved our 2 nights in a ground tent very peaceful and relaxing.
Excellent communication from Claire would definitely recommend Birders Billabong site 10/10

We absolutely loved this camp, set amongst the woodlands and right on the transition zone to the rainforest (start your day with a great loop walk throughout). Superb! Recommended for simple car campers.
