Awesome place to relax and take the dogs! Plenty of room in each site to setup camp, easy access to the campground and the river was such a relaxing place to spend the day! Highly recommend!

Lovely quiet place with lots of room. The creek wasn't too far away and was great for a swim and caught a few fish.

Arthur was very friendly and accommodating, provided free Firewood & axe to chop & made sure we had all the information needed before arrival. Private and scenic camp areas, to get to the creek is only a short walk.

We loved this camping spot! Very private, peaceful, great swimming in the Barron provided you can manage with a fairly strong current, firewood supplied, beautiful green surrounds, toilet on site. Thanks so much to Arthur and Cheryl for sharing their land and for being extremely responsive with calls and messages. We had a wonderful time!

Arthur and Cheryl were very accommodating - we had a slightly larger group and nothing was a problem. The creek was stunningly pretty (although quite chilly when we were there in August) and lots of shady spots for those that wanted it but also sunny spots for the solar to work. I enjoyed one afternoon just chilling in my hammock 😊

Great off-grid location which is very peaceful and relaxing, just far enough out of Mareeba to be secluded. The camp toilet and camp shower are an added bonus. Arthur is very friendly and checked in with us every day. We enjoyed the very peaceful atmosphere of the campsite and campgrounds as we were the only campers on-site as we camped during the week. We enjoyed walking down to the river which was only a short walk down the hill. The campsites are large, flat and slashed which makes for comfortable and a convenient setup.

It simply doesn't get much better than this! Very tranquil setting, heaps of privacy, great basic amenities and the river nearby to cool off in. Arthur is a great host who showed us our site and talked us through the amenities. Even got some firewood. We stayed 3 nights but could have stayed 3 weeks. Would highly recommend!

This is a beautiful very peaceful spot with classic Cape York bush. The owners have done a fantastic job making it accessible and friendly. Stunning camping.

Nice large flat camp grounds, owner is nice and cut good firewood for great camp fire. Toilet, handwashbasin and cold shower on site which is appreciated. We swam every day in the beautiful Barron river but was not ideal for kayaking as strong current.

Arthur and Cheryl were great hosts and have a beautiful Property. Site 4 (Privacy Site) was perfect for our group of 6 with our 2 Cattle Dogs. The site was able to accommodate 3 utes, 3 swags, 1 Tent and 2 gazebos. Site 4 is the Furthest from the other sites but still only a short walk to the River and Amenities. We had a great weekend and would be more than happy to stay at Ben Ellinjaa again.

Arthur And Cheryl have a fantastic set-up, this is the perfect spot to get away for a break with the fur babies. The hosts are very friendly and make all feel welcome.

We love camping at Arthur & Cheryl's, this was our second stay and we will be back again! Arthur supplied firewood for us and the facilities were tidy and maintained well. Our 3 year old loved riding his bike around the camp and we all enjoyed a swim in the creek.

Brilliant stay at Arthur’s place! Comms when booking were prompt and uber helpful.
Camp site was clean and wood was provided cut to size for our camp fire.
Shower and toilet facilities were clean & dunny paper provided!
Camps were well spaced so not crowded.
Other campers we chatted to caught some sootys in the river.
Great bird spotting for those inclined.
A great family stay!
Doggos welcomed off lead.

I really enjoyed camping here for 2 nights! Site 4 was spacious and private, only short walk to the creek and amenities. We had friends join us with their dog as well as our 2 medium to large dogs, was great they could run around off leash. Creek/river was nice as refreshing dip but there was also a rain water shower available. Would definitely return. Owner was great checking in we were all ok as we arrived late.

Enjoyed our stay very much. Was quiet, peaceful and such a bonus to have amenities close by. Site is about 20 minutes on a gravel road, but we had no issues in our small SUV. Arthur met us, showed us around & cut up some firewood (at my request)

Peace and quiet at its best.
Beautiful spot, clean pit toilet with the best loo roll 😁
Access to river is good.
Sensitive weed about, so keep shoes on.
Say hello to friendly cattle.

This would have to be one of the best river camps we have stayed at. The host Arthur was friendly and very welcoming. He shared some of his favourite places going north.

Arthur was a great host, he waited for us to arrive near his property and then we followed him to our campsite for the weekend. Arthur showed us the amenities and the track down to the river if we decided on a swim. He also has quiet cattle on the property and did mention that they might walk through between sites.
Our campsite no. 2 was great , site 3 was in the vicinity but far enough away that we had privacy. Site 1 is close to site 2 for future campers. Basically a slashed paddock with a built pit toilet and cold shower between site 1 and 2. Only small negative was the sensitive weed at our site , but we wore thongs and had floor matts. We had a small herd of cattle check us out and weren’t too fazed. All in all we had a great relaxing time.
