Bares Hideaway was brilliant! Not far from Brisbane to get to and directions were easy. Paul & Tracey were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The facilities were very clean and well kept. Loved that it has limits on number of sites to prevent crowding!
Bins were on site for easy disposal of rubbish.
The property is surrounded by trees and wildlife and the goats and sheep roam freely.

Very friendly. Toilets and showers were excellent they were perfectly clean and easy to access. A great place to gather with a group of friends. Sadly our trip was cut short due to bad weather.

Nice site with friendly hosts. Toilets and showers nice and clean.
Basic camp kitchen with stove, bbq and sink, all clean and tidy.
Solar lights around camp.
Only wish there was some water in the creek.

Lovely helpful hosts.

Beautiful large space.
Clean toilets/ hot showers.
Kids loved the roaming sheep/goats and nightly pig feeding.
Catching tadpoles and making games in the creek beds (balance beams etc)

Took our camper trailer for 2 nights. Awesome! Beautiful farm surrounding, Great facilities and hosts were wonderful offering firewood and ice (at a reasonable price). Also checked in to see if we were prepared and feeling ok for a potentially severe storm that was rolling in (thankfully only needed up being minor).

Enjoyed a lovely weekend away at Bares Hideaway. Loved being able to take the pup along with the family. We camped over a very dry and hot weekend but such is life in SEQ at the moment. Appreciated clean facilities and flushable toilets were a big plus!

What a great spot with amazing hosts. My wife and I plus the kids and dogs loved our stay. We stayed when it was quiet and had our pick of the sites. We loved how close amenities were and the beautiful land. Also the goats and sheep roaming were fun. The hosts Paul and Tracey were super friendly and helpful, overall excellent hosts. We will absolutely be back to stay at this great spot. Thank you Paul & Tracey.

This is a great camp-site. The road in is a little challenging but take it easy and there is no problems. Very clean amenities. In fact spotless. There are eight outdoor showers but they are kinda hard to use if you have to be clothed. Four other enclosed showers however. It would be a great spot if you had a group of clothing optional freind and book the whole camp-site. It was clothing optional in the past I believe.

We had a perfect stay at Bares hideaway on Saturday night! Heaps of room but felt nice and secluded and easy to access for us in a 2wd car. Sheep and goats wandering around was cool and the toilet and shower amenities were clean, well stocked and actually just perfect. The owners were also lovely and checked if we needed any more supplies. What more can I say... Loved it and highly recommend!

Wonderful site! Plenty of amenities around, and rubbish bins! A very well thought out establishment! Waking up to the heard of sheep peacefully roaming the grounds was next level amazing!
Would definitely recommend and I hope to visit again!

The facilities are well maintained and clean, with separate toilet blocks in each main area which means you're not sharing one with the whole campground and there's always one nearby.
There's 3 main camping areas spread out over the large property. No designated spots, but most of the useable area is flat so there's plenty of options.
We stayed over a long weekend. Talking to a regular there, that was the busiest he'd seen before which was a good sign because it didn't seem too busy to us!
The owners may keep the numbers limited which is great.
The small township of Grandchester is just down the road, and Laidley is about a 15 minute drive. There's a lake at Laidley with great swimming and all the shops you would need to stock up during your stay.
The owners let you get involved in the pig, sheep and goat feeding in the late afternoon as well which is a nice bonus especially for the kids.
Our stay was reasonably quiet. Given it was grand final weekend and the local team won (yuck), I was impressed by how compliant the guests were to the noise restrictions (after 9pm). Don't come here for a massive party!
There's no road noise which is wonderful. Too many campgrounds these days are off major highways and it can ruin the atmosphere a little.
We'll come back. The hosts are lovely, facilities well looked after and it's not too far away from civilization.
Hopefully there won't be a fire ban next time, but it's hard to help in this part of the world.

Beautiful location, multiple good areas to set up tent, nearby toilet and shower rooms that were kept very clean. Sheep roam the area and we were very lucky to see them so close! Paul and Tracy were great hosts, we greatly recommend this place.

My daughter and I have been wanting to go away camping, but as a single mum I was hesitant of going alone (have never camped solo before) and was hoping to find a location we could go regularly and feel safe at night just the two of us. Bares Hideaway is the perfect location for this, with plenty of campsites to choose from - ones closer to other campers and ones a little further away. We camped in the gulley campsite just outside of the shell campsite, and this was the perfect location that was close to a toilet, and to other campers, while still giving us some space and privacy. Paul and Tracey were wonderful hosts, and Tracey was very responsive via text and phone call when I had questions. We will definitely be back! 😊

We enjoyed an overnight stay at Bares Hideaway, close to the Grandchester Hotel and the bike trails at Hidden Vale. The camping area is well maintained, grassed, good hot/cold showers/toilets, goats meandering around, very peaceful and plenty of open space in the open paddock sites, dog friendly. Would definitely recommend!
