One Mile Waterhole is a beautiful camp where you can enjoy the serenity completely alone. Easy access made it especially enjoyable and our hosts were very friendly.

We had an absolutely great time camping. Had a great creek and plenty of shade. The hosts were absolutely lovely people and very welcoming we will definitely be back again. Thank you very much.

This was a beautiful and very private camp. In the middle of nowhere really, but beautiful. It is 110km south of Mitchel so allow that time to get there. Road was dirt and bituman but all in good condition.

Thanks Christine for allowing us to stay on your beautiful property. Great waterhole to camp beside, lots of birds to watch, plenty of firewood for the evening fire. Certainly recommend for anyone else to stay for a quiet bit of camping!

A great stay at One Mile waterhole (it’s my favourite and was available due to a cancellation). Peaceful and secluded with great birdlife. Christine and her family are warm and welcoming hosts who go out of their way to ensure a great stay but are not intrusive. My second visit and I will look forward to my next!

We stopped here for three days on our way back to coastal NSW from western Queensland. We loved it. It was very quiet and we had the place to ourselves by the waterhole. Lots of bird life. This time of year (May) the nights are cold but perfect for a fire. Quite a bit of shade if you went in warmer months. Absolutely no mobile coverage so if you want keep up to date with your Facetube friends do not come here.

Camping at this site, beside the wide water filled creek, was enjoyable, private and hassle free. Access to the site was easy and the site itself was flat with some shade. The landowners, Christine and Walter and their son Greg, were welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be going back.

What a beautiful isolated camping spot with outstanding birdwatching along the waterhole! Peaceful and quiet apart from the birdsong. I am very much looking forward to visiting again.

Be prepared for an off road drive (rough at times) through good farm station scenery to arrive at riverside campsite. River was as brown as the Yarra but maybe it clears up at times. See cows, sheep, and the odd emu and kangaroos on the way. We were lucky enough to have seen an echidna too.
Not much to do there so bring a book or good friends.

One Mile Waterhole
We stayed for two nights in this quiet camp spot and had it to ourselves. Directions were accurate and easy to follow as we drove from St George. We enjoyed the tranquility, bird life, walks and cooking on the camp fire at night. I would highly recommend Abbieglassie.

The location snd hosts were lovely it is a lot more than 68 km though closer to 100 including dirt road still worth the effort saw wild pigs a wild goat, two wedge tail eagles and at the site saw a pelican and several other varieties of birds.

We had a very peaceful stay next to the large billabong. Whilst us is very dry due to the drought the rivergums provided shade and where home to quite a lot of bird life. Christine was very pleasant and helpful on our arrival.
