Enchanted Forest Camping Adventures
Beautiful and peaceful campsite with plenty of spots to choose from! Eileen was incredibly kind, responsible, and communicative throughout my stay. She was very helpful and suggested a great spot for me to stay.
I especially loved being close to the pond—it created such a calm and serene atmosphere. It was also wonderful for my dog, who absolutely loved exploring and walking through the forest. I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay, even as a solo female traveler.
One night, the campers at a nearby site were quite loud until around 2 a.m. This was not the host’s fault at all, as I had chosen a spot close to other campers, and thankfully, earplugs did the trick!
Overall, I had a wonderful and relaxing stay and would absolutely come back. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature!

This place is a gem. If you're equipped for, and used to outdoor camping without amenities. There is no running water and no functional toilets (outhouse only)
It's very peaceful, quiet, and the beach is great. I went up with some friends for a couple days away had a great time. I then went back the following week for a couple nights and it was just as great!
There was some form of event happening on the beach the second time, I wasn't aware of this when I booked, but it calmed down around 10pm and wasn't intrusive.
I'd highly recommend!

Eileen is wonderful, the land is beautiful and it was quiet and lovely.
It is a nice camp. Clean sites. Cool things to see. Eileen clearly takes care of the place. Only downside, the mosquitoes were intense. According to one of the regulars it isn't usually so bad, but my time was unlucky that way. Bugs love me, so I barely got to enjoy the cool landscape. However I did instead spend a bunch of time in the nearby town of Plantagenet which is a very nice place.
Always a magical place, highly recommend. We come here each year.

Was perfect for a quick night. Stay along my travels. Eileen came out to greet me was very friendly. I had a nice little conversation. There were a few other people also camping but you would never know as it was very quiet. Would definitely stop again if I was in the area.

Beautiful place! We had tons of fun at the beach and the lake is nice and refreshing. We had the Bach to ourselves on both days! Our campsite was very private. The wind in the pines was peaceful. There is a nice park for kids to play. Eileen was nice and accommodating. Will definitely visit again! One suggestion: it would be nice if all campsites had picnic tables.
The property is lovely and the camp sistes are spacious. We went in a beautiful weekend in July and we were pleasantly surprised that it was not very busy. To note that the sites are first come first served. There are plenty to choose from but it is work making sure you have daylight to see what you're doing!
There is a bit of upkeep to be done but for the price and the privacy it is definetly worth it. The pond is small and the water looks a bit murky but we were assured it is clean and we swam just fine. There is a healthy amount of dragonflies to keep bugs away while you dip in.

Wonderful experience hammock camping with our dogs. Eileen was a great host with a beautiful property!
My best advice is to come with realistic expectations and you’ll have a blast! Be prepared to use rustic outhouses (or bring camping toilet setup like we did), bring water for drinking and dishes (no water source, no showers) carry out all waste with you, leave property better than you found it. Nice, cool, swimming hole… Everyone we ran into was friendly and helpful. We will be back.
Had a great experience at Whispering Pines. Eileen was a wonderful and generous host, and very friendly to bikepackers.
Campsites were private, shady, and had easy access to outhouse facilities. A great-value option for the area, which has few other places for overnight accomodations. Booking through HipCamp was quick and easy.

Me and a buddy just needed a place to setup camp for the night and this place was perfect for that. Eileen was very nice and friendly, and it felt like real woods camping but with the added benefit of some amenities. The bathrooms where slightly lacking but we where on the move so much that it wasn't really a problem. We would 100% stay here again!
Had a blast camping on Eileen's property. A real slice of heaven. Will definitely be returning!

We went early in the season and we were the only ones there, very relaxing and best leep ever! Would highly recommend!
Such a cozy, amazing spot. Our site was really spacious, surrounded by many trees which for us felt really private. We really enjoyed our stay; it was so relaxing and great. Thank you Eileen for being a great host! She provided firewoods for an affordable price, and she also showed us available sites so we could choose our place. Looking forward to coming back here, hopefully this time weather allows to also enjoy the pond!

This was such a wonderful, magical place! Eileen is amazing and running the place herself, she is so kind and welcoming, she made our stay exceptional! There are many beautiful campsites with lots to explore! She has so much to see and many beautiful decorations.
Whispering Pines/Enchanted Forest is truly a one-of-a-kind special place. What I first found to be odd, and even a little creepy, were bad vibes I brought myself.
• Is it rustic? Yes.
• Are the facilities getting run-down? Yes.
• Is it full of delightful nooks and crannies? Also, yes.
• Is Eileen (the host) lovely and gracious? Absolutely, yes.
Things to know before you go:
• There is no potable water on the site. In a pinch I am sure Eileen would help from the limited supply she has, but don’t bank on it. Your best bet is to bring an ample supply of drinking water.
• Some sites are clearly defined, with picnic tables and fire pits, but I imagine if it gets a bit crowded you may have to pitch your tent in a less defined area (there is a lot of space) and use one of the communal fire pits available. When I was there, I would have gladly allowed campers to sit at the picnic table I had if they were in a site that didn’t have one and wanted to have a meal comfortably.
