We have recently purchased this cool firehouse that was built in 1998. It Was a volunteer firehouse that was mostly used to store boats and other watercraft. Most of the property in the area is owned by FEMA so don’t have to worry about about new neighbors popping up. We plan to make this the perfect Hipcamp location. Learn more about this land: We plan to have camper face away from our home for a more private experience. This would give campers a private setting. They will see mostly trees from this location. Our property is flat less the “mound septic” system The Ohio River is across the street that is also the public boat access point.

I loved my stay at McCarrick Firehouse! Allison and her husband accommodated a last minute booking and were so hospitable. They set up a firepit for me and even gathered wood. They set up a camp chair and two tables. I camped under the tree just in a sleeping bag and it was beautiful! Lots of wildlife and close to the river!

We had a great peaceful weekend away. The hosts were kind, friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They own some wooded properties surrounding the site, so there was a lot of room to explore. The water hookup was really convenient. We were pleased to find a playground behind the property. My kids loved it and the tire swing. We got a visit from the neighborhood fox “Swiper”. Quick walk to beautiful Ohio River boat ramp.
