Our little hobby farm was procured in December 2021. While we're just getting started our new home, we hope you'll enjoy sharing the orchard, meadows, forest, and swimming pond with us. "Roads go ever ever on, under cloud and under star. Yet feet that wandering have gone turn at last to home afar." Learn more about this land: Come relax atop the Appalachian foothills of southern Ohio. Enveloped in the heart of Tranquility Wilderness Area, our 11 acres has a mix of native pawpaw, peach, pear, and persimmon trees, deciduous forest, cedar woods, wild meadows, a small swimming pond, and a large, accessible field for ample flat for tents and room to play. Trails through the woods are being worked on, and facilities expanded as the seasons pass. Mellow nature’s soundtrack of birds, crickets, and frogs and enjoy an incredibly clear view of the night sky. Hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, hunting, swimming, and more are available at several state parks and historical sites like within 10-30 minutes of the farm. Amish country is likewise near at hand with several bakeries, markets, furniture shops, and greenhouses. Our primitive sites are spaced for privacy, with a gravel parking area near the cottage and additional field parking is available near the road on the opposite site of the main house. While most sites are walk-in only, the upper field sites may be able to be parked near and the Lower Meadow, Boneyard, and Oak Grove may be able to be driven to, as weather and site conditions permit.

The cottage
Pleasant, Quiet, Chill
My stay in Basil's super cute cottage was exactly what I needed. The cottage was pleasantly decorated, with enough distance from the main house to provide space/privacy, and just as cozy as advertised, even on a 20-some degree night. I had a chance to explore the campsites, which are spacious, well-positioned, and easy to access. The next time I need to run away from home for a few days, I'll probably run to Basil's cottage. Y'all should too.

Camper camp
Basil was such a warm and generous host. She went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The camper camp site was large with some beautiful trees and surroundings. Unfortunately my plans changed and I wasn't able to stay as long as I had planned.

Gracious Hosts, Gorgeous Sites!
Basil's property is absolutely beautiful, with a sweet little pond and gorgeous sunset views as well as lovely fruit trees scattered about. Each site is clearly marked and well-kept, though we arrived on a particularly rainy evening so Basil was gracious enough to offer us an upgrade to The Cottage for the night. We enjoyed a cozy night and then a lovely morning exploring the property with our dog. We didn't get to use the outdoor shower but appreciated its presence, as well the presence of the outhouse. The address was easy to find via GPS (good T-Mobile service) and Basil was very communicative via text. We loved it so much we booked another stay on our return trip!

Site 3: The Back Pocket
Beautiful Area and Farm
Basil's farm is set in a lovely area, central to many possible outdoor activities. She was very responsive and helpful, went out of her way to make us feel welcome, and obviously has plans to expand the possibilities of the farm. Our site in the Back Pocket was shaded in the evening, sunny in the morning. It was very quiet and private. The night sky there was awesome!

Site 1: Cedar Wood
Awesome property with several nice campsites and a small clean pond for swimming. The host was very kind and made sure I was comfortable, they even offered a storm bunker since there was a thunderstorm rolling in
