Noisy, poor guest management
Booked a bush camp advertised as "peaceful, tranquil, private" only to have a tractor start/park up less than 40m from my camp followed by loud noises each & all morning & engine belt squealing. lt was confusing that host messages guests about noisy bats at night but not about the tractor activity, would expect this on a farm stay & or if host informed you they're presently demolishing large sections of bush on the campground, contradicts the camp description... I was looking for a bunch of peace & quite to recharge before the next job, initially put up with it not making a fuss, figured I'd leave a positive but honest review but the checkout situation earnt a non-positive review. Host made a fuss about me checking out earlier than the check/o time so they could accommodate the next booking who wanted early checkin, host said 'they'll be fine to wait for you if you're still packing up', I was already packed up (basic set up, campervan) but was planning to leave close to 12 & utilise the morning I'd paid for to get things done. Got pushed out over an hour before 12. I'm a well seasoned traveller who's spent years travelling & working on the road all over this country, this type of situation is unheard of, there are some really good hosts and camps out there, I've stayed & worked on many of them, the place itself was ok, it was the misleading description, the guest management & interpersonal shortcomings with the checkout situation that sullied the experience.
