Katherine Rural RV Stop
We spent 3 enjoyable nights and used it as a base for exploring the Katherine region. We had it to ourselves as unfortunately the restaurant was closed but it made for a very peaceful time. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to busy caravan parks.

Katherine Rural RV Stop
Didn't resemble much of an RV stop
Not worth the $$. Request was to call the host upon arrival. After no phone reception for most of the day travelling, we arrived late on site (before gate closure) only for their to be no response by the host and left sitting in the dark wondering what we'd do. Eventually after emailing to express someone came after 40mins and was far from anything welcoming, with attitude that was super rude stating that they thought we'd have called (even though there is no reception anywhere and it didn't ask for it prior).
They then didn't even show us a thing just stating that we 'looked like we were right', we then had to ask for basic toilet access. No lights were even put on for us to see where we were meandering in the dark until after we had gone to bed and were actually trying to sleep.
Its a carpark in the dark essentially.
We would have been better off saving the $$ and camping for free roadside.

Katherine Rural RV Stop
Tranquility Camping
A quiet location away from the crowds yet not too far to travel to Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge). A beautiful view looking out to the paddocks with animals. Christopher was very welcoming upon arriving and his restaurant was an extra special treat to go out for dinner during our stay. Have no hesitation to recommend to family and friends who are looking for somewhere different to stay.

As a last minute stop on the Saturday of Easter weekend Chris could not have been more accommodating!! He even got us into the restaurant for dinner which we cannot even say how amazing the food was!! Everyone we dealt with was just charming, and Grace was an exceptional host! Well done Chris!!!

Campsite is just the car park for the restaurant. Loud noise from the road and the restaurant guests leaving until about 9/9:30. No pre arrival checkin information or comfort orientation when we arrived due to ..? Host working in the restaurant. Congrats on giving it a go but not how it was presented.

Abundance of wildlife
This was a beautiful place to camp, with clean well maintained bathrooms (with lots of adorable frogs in it) and flat land.
We were treated to all kinds of wildlife greeting us at sunrise. All in all would stay again- the host was accomodating to our late arrival. Just sad we missed the restaurant as it looked lovely!

Highly recommended!
Lovely quiet uncrowded rural block close to Katherine. Next door is the Kumbidgee Restaurant which is the best in the region. Stayed overnight twice in the last few weeks and really enjoyed the site and the restaurant on both occasions. Will be returning!

We enjoyed our stay at Kumbidgee, Christopher met us and showed us where we could park some nice shady trees , lovely clean toilets the restaurant is a must ,very quiet and peaceful will definitely go back

Would you recommend it to a friend? - absolutely! Perfect for anyone going to Nitmiluk and after a day hiking, a good feed at the restaurant is exactly what you need. My camp site was shady and the donkey close by was great company! Thank you for having me, I’d love to come again!

Quiet country camping
We really enjoyed our quiet stay at Kumbidgee Restaurant. Nicely situated between town and the gorge. The restaurant must be amazing because it was very busy both nights we were there.

Fantastic location.
Fabulous camp. We decided to stay here as we had a sunset cruise booked for Katherine Gorge and it is only about 10km’s away. We arrived late but Chris met us when we arrived to show us where we could park up. Fantastic communication, great spot and highly recommended. 5 star!!

Good location to visit all attractions that Katherine has to offer like Nitmiluk, hot springs, outback adventures, Cutta Cutta caves. Great alternative to caravan parks, we had a site most of the stay for ourselves. There were also animals on the neighbouring property and plenty dry grass to feed the donkeys, so our kids had a blast.

Peaceful country retreat.
We really enjoyed our time at Kumbidgee. It was a more affordable option than the parks. Peaceful country setting, lovely sunsets, very nice facilities. We didn't get to the restaurant but it must be amazing because it was packed both nights we were there.

We loved every moment of our stay at Katherine Rural RV stop! Christopher was really quick to get back to us to answer questions, met us on arrival and was really helpful. Our site was fantastic, with views across the paddock and a beautiful sunset….we are at Kumbidgee and had a wonderful evening. Thanks to Christopher and family for such a fab stay!

Night off cooking???
Awesome spot to stop if in the Katherine vicinity. Restaurant on site was amazing. Do yourself a favour and book restaurant for at least two nights so you can taste all the dishes.
Camp area was shady but enough dun for solar. Highly recommend

Perfect place to stop - roll up, set up and step into Kumbidgee restaurant for dinner! Christopher has super friendly, coming out to meet us when we arrived.
There’s some big shady trees some grass. The lagoon is lovely.
The abolitions are beside the restaurant. No shower or much facility for camping. But it was just what we wanted for our stay.
