I acquired Towanda in 2017, partly to have a guest cottage next to the tiny house on my property for visiting family and friends but mostly for keeping a sense of adventure alive in my life. Several years ago, it was my dying husband’s wish to travel cross-country and we spent the most magical 7 months aboard Clementine, our 34-ft. motor home. 10,000 miles, 23 states and countless amazing friends, vistas and experiences were ingrained forever in my heart. After that, you can never go back to average...so here I am, happy to share it with fellow-minded soul seekers. My dream is to save rental income to grow a small farm for therapy animals like mini donkeys, pigs, chickens, who knows where this road will lead me! But one thing is for sure—every day is a wonderful new adventure! Learn more about this land: Relaxing getaway just minutes from UNC Chapel Hill. Enjoy quiet evenings under the stars by the fire pit before snuggling up aboard a 16-ft. Shasta Airflyte Camper. She’s got all the charm of the original 1961 design with the benefit of 2015 amenities such as a microwave, gas stove, A/C, smart TV with streaming capabilities, and Bluetooth sound system!

Retro Camper in the Woods
Very nice secluded property, camper is near the house but has a private feel. Clean and cozy, nice little welcome pack. Convenient to our daughters place in Carrboro.

Perfect weekend get away/base camp
I loved staying at Ivonne’s Retro Camper! It was a peaceful stay tucked back in the woods with free range chickens and two cute and affectionate donkeys. The camper was very clean and had special touches including a hand written card, a retro camper Christmas ornament, and a box of moon pies. There was also bottled spring water in the fridge. It was cozy and had everything I needed for a weekend get away. It was the perfect base camp for exploring Chapel Hill and the surrounding area. I hope to make it back!

Retro Camper in the Woods
This was a great trip. The camper is decked out. All modern amenities (the only thing my daughter couldn’t do was connect her switch, which meant she had to talk to me) and close to a lot of cool stuff. The bathroom is a little rough if you are tall but that’s a small price to pay. Having some familiarity with campers will definitely be an advantage but mostly that would come in with cooking and the bathroom and I have no doubt Ivonne would answer any question if asked. She was generous with her property and the peace was nice. If the choice is between this and a hotel room, you’d be a fool to pick a hotel room. Save the money on the hotel and spend it on the Uber.

Retro Camper in the Woods
Cute Camper in a Beautiful Setting
Ivonne's camper has such a cute, retro vibe, but with all the modern amenities. The inside of the camper has fun, colorful decorations and a very comfortable full size mattress. There's a bathroom, kitchen, and air conditioning on board, so while you're out in the woods, you're not really roughing it. There's a nice area right out front with a picnic table and a spot for a fire. The camper is located on Ivonne's property that feels like a peaceful little getaway, complete with a small garden and four friendly chickens. There is a lot to explore, like a nature walk, swings and hammocks. Ivonne is such a welcoming host!

Charming and comfortable
The Retro camper was so charming and had everything you need. Plus the bed was very comfortable. There was lots to do in nearby Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough and lots of great eating places. A perfect weekend getaway.

At Peace
What a great deal! I have already renamed the Retro Camper in the Woods to Sweetpea and I want to keep her all to myself! Ms. Yvonne may have to evict me. I want to stay in her backyard for ever. Location Location Location. Very private neighborhood with very few neighbors. Very quiet. Just the wind in the trees and the sound of wind chimes. No street noise at all. It really is 30 minutes from everywhere but you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere (my personal preference). I visited William B. Umstead Park, JC Raulston Arboretum and Duke Gardens. All just 30 minutes away from Sweetpea. I will be going down to Zebulon tomorrow for Aura Photography at Sage and Smudge. Strong WIFI connection. After each day I returned back to Sweetpea and was able to edit and load my photos at camp! Usually I have to wait until I am home to get this strong of a signal. This is a spot I will return to. Thank you Ms. Yvonne for such a welcoming place
