A rocky creek winds through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

A Shady Creek View
This was my second stay at Tanglewood. It was especially nice with the leaves down and you could see so much ch more of the night sky and the stars. I really enjoy this campground and will be back again soon.

Absolutely wonderful campsite. Fresh porta-potties were dropped off upon our arrival along with a starter stack of firewood. Any questions we had were answered by Blair. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Was able to boondock with my small 12 ft travel trailer, beautiful site on the creek. Saw a heron on the creek as I pulled in. Blair was awesome. Provided some wood to start the fire and some drinking water, had a very comfortable stay, highly recommended will definitely be back..

Beaver Den
Blair was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. We liked that the sites were spaced out and felt secluded. Area was well maintained and the port-a-john was probably the cleanest I've ever seen. There was plenty of wood for fire and a convenient well for potable water. Highly recommend and I can't wait to see what he adds.

Great campsite with peace and quiet. Lots of places to roam around and the host is very helpful. He even left water and firewood at our campsite for when we arrived. We also brought our dogs which was not an issue at all.

Very nice camping spot
Blair was incredibly helpful and kind. His sites were clean and thoughtfully planned out with a picnic table, nice fire pit with rotating grill and designated soft and level tent area I would have been thankful for if we didn’t pack an air mattress. He checked in on us right away, explained where the bathroom was and was present on the property if we needed anything (we didn’t) nice quiet sites and the creek sounds made it peaceful. Close to the hiking we wanted to be near and would love to come back, thank you Blair!

This is a brand new up-and-coming campground. Really nice sites along a winding creek. Very nice forest area with campsites tucked away offering comfort privacy. The Host Blair is great, friendly and customer focused, he made sure wood and water were readily available. He has big plans for his campground and is excited to see it developing. I will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic host, amazing property! Hidden gem... I will be back. Blair was very accommodating, even gave us some starter wood and water bottles. My pup had fun. This property has great future potential with more campsites to come.... I like camping. And rivers. And mountains. =D
