Resting Spot in a Lake Community
This spot is a gem! I so enjoyed my stay at the cottage. The location was great, with lots of scenic driving in the area and easy access to nearby hiking trails. I also appreciated being able to hang out in the cottage and enjoyed the cool vibe of the space. I hope to be back!

Convenient to Empire State Trail
I stayed here to break up a bike ride from Brewster to Poughkeepsie on the Empire State Trail. It's a beautiful woody area a block from a lake and maybe 10-15 minutes riding from where the trail meets the local road, with some uphill. The house and room were cute, like an artist's studio, and clean, a nice place to enjoy the sounds and sights of a very green, leafy yard. The yard has a firepit, terra cotta Chiminea and picnic table, which will be a lot of fun. Note for bike riders: once you leave the mostly flat Empire State Trail, the local roads are somewhat hilly, including the ones you'll need to take to get to the nearest market/deli for food, so expect to do some work to eat, if you don't bring your own food. By car, shopping will not seem far away at all, though. Overall, I found the place comfortable and would like to come back during foliage season, as this area will clearly be beautiful. The only thing that I didn't like was the rocking chair upstairs, which as someone who has maybe seen too many movies, freaked me out a little LOL.

My husband and I stayed with two dogs and loved this place. It's cute and exactly what we needed on our road trip. Beautiful decorations and area with a wonderful host. We highly recommend staying!

Christine’s spot is a diamond in the rough. I felt so cozy and welcomed. Her cottage is very stylish and peaceful, and close to a beautiful lake! The host wasn’t in while I was there and I ended up having the place to myself. I jumped in the lake, cooked a nice meal, and had a very deep sleep in the upstairs bedroom—exactly what I needed. This place is awesome!

Restful stay
My partner and I really enjoyed our stay and felt so at home at Christine’s! The house is serene with plants inside and outside and had everything you need for a restful stay. We felt encouraged to pick from the garden and also appreciated swimming in the lake only 2 min walk away! Would love to come back and definitely recommend to a friend.

Resting Spot in a Lake Community
Great Stay!!!!!
My partner and I had an amazing stay at the Resting Spot in a Lake Community!! We had the whole lake house/cottage to ourselves for two nights, three day's in which we were able to make home cooked delicious meals with the use of her pots, utensils, ect. We ate said dinners under the (provided access to) camp fire both nights; and enjoyed the beautiful setup up and space of the front lawn area. The lake was a beautiful view and not to far from her home. We do not drive so to get around we rented two bikes overnight from Pawlings Cycling Sport (great price) and got to ride the Empire Trail, camp out and chill on the other side of the lake for a few. Overall the stay provided a great experience outside of the lake community and insde the cottage self. It was honestly the best vacation we been on in a while and we go on a few get aways as often as we can. Thank you for this experience!!!
