Big Red Alpacas and Big Red Sustainables reside here at Dickensen Road in beautiful Cambridge NY close to both the Battenkill and Saratoga Springs. To help with the sustainability factor, we allow folks to camp on our property so they too can enjoy the woods, pastures, wild animals and farm animals, we all enjoy. Hence, we launched "Dickensen Farm: Cabins and Camping." The alpacas are inquisitive and peaceful animals, they are beautiful and provide wonderfully warm fashionable products as well. Please ask us about our seasonal products, including: Farm fresh, organically raised, free range chicken eggs Frozen meat birds Maple syrup Beautiful alpaca products Honey from our bees Dry, seasoned firewood for your camp sites Handmade Amish soaps However, you are not compelled to buy anything! State Line Bunks is comprised of pastures of alpacas, fields of hay, and  spectacular views of the farms, hills and mountains in the distance.  At night, the number of stars is incredible, so you can pick out the constellations, planets, and satellites. Night sounds include peepers, coyotes, & owls. During the day you can visit the farm animals, fish, swim or tube the Battenkill, canoe, kayak, hike, run, walk, pick apples, ski, go to the Fair, visit the local micro brew pubs and listen to live music. So much to do in Cambridge, Hoosick and Shushan NY, or cross over to Manchester, Arlington or North Bennington, VT. Go horseback riding at Kimberly Farms riding stable up the road. Experience unique foods like cheesecake from the Nuns of New Skete or freshly made donuts at King's Donuts on Sunday Mornings.  Check out the Deli and Brews at Yuskak's in Shushan, or the Slyboro Black Currant Hard Cider at Argyle Brewing co.  Friday is Prime Rib night at The Bog, or catch a game at Kevin's Sports Pub in North Bennington. Start your day with fresh breakfast sandwich from the White Creek Country Store, or catch a Maple Bourbon Bacon Burger on Fridays. Back 40 is a rustic 12x14 Cabin looking out across a field, sometimes not far if it is a corn growing year. Closer to the outhouse than most Cabins, which is quite handy. Private firepit area, and lots of local fauna to see and hear. A double bed and a twin bed can be found in the cabin as well as a couple of chairs.

I loved being there. Easy to find. Lovely to walk around the farm. Enjoyed the alpacas, chickens and turkeys. The staff was easy to communicate with via text. Electric, water and fire pit all easy to find and use.

Tranquil spot in the countryside. Peaceful. Beautiful views. Cabin kept me warm on a chilly night. Mattress was very comfortable. Would stay again.

Kimberly’s farm is nothing short of amazing! The alpacas were adorable. Walking up to greetings from her adorable dogs was the best feeling ever. The cabin was perfect for what we needed with so much land for our own dog to explore. I beautiful sunset views. The firepit and chairs were also a wonderful addition. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Kimberly!!!

Only stayed for a quick night in our way up to Maine. But it was easy to find and a cute location! Cabin gets chilly (no insulation) but manageable with a good sleeping bag. Loved playing with the farm dogs, and the eggs were delicious!

Beautiful farm with a friendly host and a bunch of friendly dogs that greeted us when we arrived and came to the cabin to see us when we woke up in the morning. It was a peaceful night and we enjoyed being able to feed and learn about the alpacas. There are also chickens and turkeys roaming about. A real treat for animal lovers. Will definitely come back!

We had the absolute best camping experience we have ever had in our lives at Kimberly‘s Farm. I traveled there with my wife and two kids age 8 months and three years old. We had an amazing time doing nature walks and watching the farm in real time. It was an amazing experience to be able to see the alpaca and chickens in their habitats. The dogs are very much a part of this farm as well. We have a lovely time and we’re always escorted around by at least one of the dogs. By the end of the trip, we wanted to take them home with us. We will definitely coming back and cannot say enough good things about this location.

Kimberly was a wonderful host! For the first time ever, I couldn't find the driveway and Kim was quick was guide me through. We had such a fun night despite the torrential downpours. Sad we didn't get to enjoy more in nicer weather. The farm dogs were a joy and Lucky Dog spent the night with us 🥰

Good communication. Easily accessible,Quiet, spaced out sites. We're campers and have lots of great but sometimes it's nice not having to deal with a tent. Came prepared to sleep on the floor but the cabin has a very comfortable bed.

The Perfect Secluded Cabin

This was a perfect spot. Exactly what we were hoping for. We met one of the owners upon arrival and he was super nice and helped us to the cabin. We made an awesome furry friend, Lucky who stayed with us the night. It really was an awesome place and we would highly recommend staying here. The cabin was comfortable and they have a compost toilet inside. The place exceeded our expectations.

Me and my three daughters had a wonderful time. As everyone said dogs were a huge hit and host was responsive. Cabin was super clean but we would love to pitch our Tent next time! Surrounding area was beautiful and loads to do. Great experience and highly recommend

This was PERFECT. If you’re looking for a way to just be in nature on a beautiful farm with no fluff this is the place. The cabin is new and has that nice new wood smell. There’s a fire ring and you’re secluded from other sites. This place was perfect for my dog as there are other dogs that live here!(and they are sweethearts) Kim was the coolest person and host and makes you feel like a family friend. Very responsive and very clearly cares about you and your stay. I woke up and went over to return the keys but Kim let me grab eggs from the chicken coop and hang with the alpacas for a sec. We had a little chat inside her kitchen and truly felt so welcomed. The pictures don’t do this place justice!!!!! Stores down the road have everything you’d need. 100000000000/10 coming back. Keep in mind this place is new so improvements are in the works

We had a fantastic time staying in the Pondtoon cabin at Dickensen farm. Kimberly was an amazing host and made sure we had everything we needed upon arrival. We loved seeing the alpacas, guinea fowl, turkey and chickens. The cabin was very nice and the property is beautiful. It is very quiet and peaceful. There are several dogs on the property, and a couple of them, Leo and Lucky, kind of run around the property visiting the cabins. Our favorite was Lucky. He is just the sweetest dog and he kept us company during our stay. He's the most gentle and friendly dog I've ever met. Our entire group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed having him around. If you love dogs, this is definitely the place to camp. I think even if you don't love dogs, Lucky might change your mind. We will for sure be camping here again.

Absolutely lovely place, with lovely owners! My partner and I stayed at one of the cabins here, and although it’s minimal, It’s peaceful, and just a nice setting to ground yourself at. We would absolutely rent again! And their dog Lucky is the BEST welcoming committee! Not to mention super sweet and well behaved. I totally forgot to take photos, but you should go see for yourself how lovely of a place this location is.

Stayed at the corner pocket cabin. The site has beautiful views and the alpacas were great to see on the way in when arriving! The cabin is a minimalist design inside, you can sleep on the floor or some campers may find useful to bring a camping cot. There is a small table and two chairs outside which give you a nice vantage point to take in the views. Water is available a few hundred feet away and can be brought to the site in a bucket. There was plenty of firewood at the site. Kimberly has been a wonderful host and great at communication, thank you so much!

Wonderful stay at a site that perfectly met our needs. Private and comfortable the open space cabin allowed us to set up our things how we needed and offered a great area for our camping experience. We were traveling due to a funeral and stayed and extra day due to being so comfortable. Host (and her dog Lucky) went above and beyond to welcome us and be sure we had everything we needed. Our kids loved the farm experience and would have never left if we didn’t have to return to real life!!

Kimberly and Colt are extremely accommodating and kind hosts. Colt went out of his way to assist with finding cows to cuddle and was so happy to offer assistance to any need or concern we had.

Quiet- birds and the breeze, maybe could hear highway traffic but you’d have to listen for that. Alpaca, various breeds of chickens/hens, turkey, the friendliest dogs! The property is in midst of various improvements when I stayed. I can see their vision for distanced tent and cabin sites, a top tier outhouse and potable water. IS a nice place to stay and will be top notch when complete.

Kimberly has been very welcoming and hospitable. The location was well maintained and promises a lot with beautiful views which brings freshness to the eyes. I’d recommend this place to others and be back again sometime this summer. It’s a delight for the dog lovers as she has 4 amazing dogs, with Lucky being our personal favorite. She has various other animals like Lamas, Alpacas etc., which are fun to watch. A must visit place for weekend getaways.

We had a great stay on the farm, Loved the open meadows and views. The firepit helped keep us warm as the evening chilled. Fun watching the alpacas and the chickens. Nice dark skies for star gazing too. Convenient for the Bennington Battlefield site and many hiking opportunities.

Nice quiet property for a one night stay. We arrives after dark and departed before sunrise, so didn't see the property or animals. That was a bit of a disappointment caused by our schedule, not the host.

The alpacas are adorable and healthy. The grounds and view are pristine. Just make sure you bring enough of your own firewood because there’s none there for sale! The camp was unattended for some reason. So we eight guests from four separate parties had to just figure things out amongst ourselves. Another camper and myself spent 45-minutes corralling the alpacas through the gate into their pen/barn for safety from the coyotes at nighttime when still the host didn’t show up! I was glad we did this when later that night we listened to the packs of wild coyotes howling very near! Beautiful.
