Ridgetop views evoke stillness and quiet to enjoy the abundant nature, from lyre birds, black cockatoos, wallabies, wombats, goannas as well as many different bird species depending on the season. October/November is flush with flannel flowers and other wild flowers thanks to bushfires and floods. Whilst the property is 100 acres, we also border Yengo State Forrest so if you're experienced hikers you can tramp until your hearts content without needing permission to cross private properties. The black summer bushfire regrowth is dense and difficult to travers. so I have cut in a loop walk to a rock ledge lookout (see pics) and there is also a 3km return walk to dry creek bed, boardered by pancake rock platforms and beautiful old trees. The access roads are dirt tracks which you can ride your bicycle but being on a ridge there is a steep climb back up. Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in pristine nature while being only 1.5 hrs from Newcastle or Wahroonga (start of M1) There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so even if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers, hence the price is positioned to reflect this. We live simply in a Yurt on solar and rain water, apart from us, you will be the only campers so you are able to enjoy the quiet all to yourselves. (See pic 4 to see distance yurt is from camping pad) If you are looking for a party, this is not the place for you. It's the place for stargazers and nature lovers. In the evenings, you won't hear us nor my neighbours so it's only fair that my neighbours don't hear you. No loud music allowed, being a ridge the noise travels and it scares away the wildlife. We're 15mins on dirt tracks from Wollombi village, 2WD access is fine if tracks are dry and vehicle has good clearance, otherwise 4WD preferable. Dogs love roaming around off leash, if yours is good with recall, as there's no fencing. Children under 5yrs no charge. You may use our composting loo or bring your own camping loo. Our loo is about 100m walk from camping pad. (see pic 5 and 6) Please be aware only firepit/cooking fire is allowed from 1st October to 31st March. Firepit provided (see pic 7 ) or you can bring your own. Open bonfires allowed from 1st April to 30th Sept, as per state rules. Regardless of season all fires are Bushfire Rating Dependant. Cut firewood to fit firepit can be purchased, please let me know in advance. Alternatively you can roam around and collect what has fallen on the ground. There are 2 camping pads so if you are a group you can spread out but I want it to be private for each group I host, so even if you are only 2 people there won't be any other campers, hence the price is positioned to reflect this. $30 per person per night, minimum 4 people. Will be back, so beautiful
Bring on relax and recharge! Mel is a fabulous host. Highlights: Private Awesome for reactive/anxious dogs first camping Bushwalk with stunning view Very respectable outdoor toilet Brilliant fire pit for a novice Mel is up the hill and so helpful and patient with my dogs barking before they settled in. Will be back!! Be aware but was still totally fine - track road to get in is quite steep and winding. Managed in my hatchback Yaris cross. Better reception in the higher spots for Telstra and Optus, no Vodafone. Don’t forget your portable charge like me!

Loved the serenity and privacy💚
Rolling Ridges was perfect for our group of 4 friends and a dog. We spent 3 nights and were able to enjoy the most spectacular moonrises! We enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas, even walked to the Wollombi Tavern and back. We did have a little incident where our dog had a bad reaction to something (most likely a plant) but he was fine after an eye and face wash. A good reminder to always pack normal saline and antihistamines! Mel was lovely, she provided us plenty of firewood and made sure we were safe and comfortable. Highly recommended :D
